On the name confirmation issue, when times comes to do it,
will I be contacted or will I have to contact myself? If I have to do it, how can I? Thanks for any attention given.

I dont see how your proposal could make things worse, it might very well work. Here goes a wild idea: Why not give members an option to not allow ratings without comments? Lets say it is implemented: Anyone could rate 3\3 and write: fhgjygyutg on the comment box or give a 7\7 and write WOW, personaly I think either situation would demonstrate the value of the rate®. Its also very likely that mate raters would enjoy this feature, so, speaking for myself, I would accept if the photos of those chosing this option would not go to the trp or had a seperate one. I supose it is a realy wild idea... I agree with yours anyway. Something does have to be done.

I think it was always possible to change names provided there was a valid reason, one just needs to contact the admn. or (it happened in my case) rely on the efficiency of a moderator whose name I dont recall, but who reads this forum and does the changes.

I hardly ever used it, I normaly have very low connection speeds wich explains partly why. I dont think I would miss the videos.

Only anonymous ratings are used on default TRP rankink wich is the rate recent average. If you search the ranking by average, then you will find the average of all ratings(direct and anonymous). Hope my english was good enough it sometimes is hard for me to express myself clearly(even in my native language)

I think it was started to prevent a comment like WOW with 100 exclamation points following it. I think its actualy a good thing. But I respect other points of view.

Open the photo you want to delete. Below it there are some options on the left side, the third if I am not mistaken is "delete photo" click it and a confirmation page will appear, click yes and the photo is deleted.

I use firefox and have no problems here. The only time I had a problem like that was when I blocked a specific cookie manualy and firefox couldnt open a page because of that. If you have a firewall or antispyware(and you should) running check if the problem isnt there. Hope this helps, but I must say anything related to computers is far from being an exact science, and I sometimes get errors that show up for no aparent reason and often only go away after reinstaling. If you want your rate to be publique dont use the rate recent queue, rate them directly on the rankings or go to the photographers page. The diference is that the anonymous rates are required to get on the default view when you open the top photos feature. Another diference is that there are more anonymous 3\3 than there are direct..

Every now and then it happens to me as well but it goes away.

John, I tried IE7 too and had problems with it, so I removed it. Since then Microsoft released an update to solve some issues but I cant say if it works or not. I use FF and am very happy with it, the only problem I have is due to my processor having Hyper Threading but when the "#2 cpu" is disabled it works just fine.

You have a point. I think I know the photo you refer. IMHO it also happens a lot with street/travel/documentary photos. In my case I have some flower shots that I put on abstract because thats what it is in my mind(could be wrong) and any rater/commenter should have that info agreeing or not with the choice of category.

I am enjoying it, I dont expect good results for now( I dont even have an lightmeter) but it brings me back to some basics that laziness and digital were making me forget and I like it.

It just proves big, expensive cameras arent everything....Or that one can never tell how the ratings will go...or whatever.

If I am not mistaken you can only disaprove, it serves I supose, to hide comments one finds unsuitable. If you want to keep it just leave it there no need to click anywhere.

Just very fast coming and then very fast stoping and less than lately at least in my case.

I used to own a canon 85mm 1.8 and used it to photograph some concerts and plays, untill today I still regret having sold it. It had an amazing image quality and as long as I could get relatively close to action it did the work very well even with poor light. I used several zooms but was never realy pleased with the results. Its worth considering it I.M.O. Regards.
