<p>I have posted a mini review of the Pixel TR-331 flash triggers at www.insidetheviewfinder.com</p>
<p>These just became available recently and a lot of the information about them is preliminary. I have an actual set that I have been testing but it appears that the mine have some sort of problem that prevents the flash from firing in sync. More details with pros and cons at the website.</p><div></div>

I just found myself a Pony today. Thanks for the instructions. The shutter is sticking open but I hope to resolve that issue.
The camera is in very good shape except for the sluggish shutter.

That link appears to be totally messed up. The video is at the very bottom of the
photographytechnique page.

I say we take the money and make our own YouTube video tutorial. After all who thinks
they know more than we do? ;-)

Whatever happened to the video tutorials at photo.net that I never got around to watching?

I recently moved from a D70 to the D300 and I am very happy with the larger LCD and
improved viewfinder for starters. I also like the fact that I can check the viewfinder info on
the rear monitor when the camera is sitting on a tripod. There are lots of things to like
about the camera, though it would be nice if it cost about half as much.
On the D70 that picture mode dial was always getting spun around (and always at night in
the dark). The larger files on the D300 are not really much of a blessing for casual
shooters taking snapshots and do require bigger CF cards, more hard drive space and
software upgrades.

It is always interesting to note that there are never any example images provided with these
type of questions.

You can also copy the adjustment layers from one photo to another which I guess is more
useful for photos that are already in the same general scope of color and exposure to begin
with. I always tend to work on each photo separately like a mindless dolt, waiving my fist in
the air and shouting about new fangled ways being the work of the devil.

It looks like raising you took a lot out of him.
Nice job (on the photo). ;-)

Good one Fred! I've been asking the same question for about four or five years.

It seems to me that what we need is more people taking photographs of children in parks. That way the perverts would be reluctant to be there because they might also be photographed.
Also on the matter of Adults not entering a playground without a child in tow, who says people with kids can't be perverts as well and use their kids to get close to other peoples kids?
It seems to me that most if not all of these restrictions are put in place by people who really do not think very clearly. In the end it's not worth the hassel to take photographs of other peoples children (probably not even your own).
-
Did you notify the flickr administrators?

Your kids have an inheritance? Wow!
Do these monolights connect to a power pack? The powerpack should have a flash sync cord socket. That seems like the logical place to plug in the PocketWizard. I just finished using a Profoto Acute 1200 2R setup the other day. The R means it has a reciever built in to the power pack (pretty slick).
When I asked the people at my friendly local camera store/equipment rental place about basic setup they gave me the following advice which I will now pass on to everyone else. "Oh, it's pretty straightforward."<div></div>

Fine art photography
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Fine art photography, sometimes simply called art photography, refers to high-quality archival photographic prints of pictures that are created to fulfill the creative vision of an individual professional. Such prints are reproduced, usually in limited editions, in order to be sold to dealers, collectors or curators, rather than mass reproduced in advertising or magazines. Prints will sometimes, but not always, be exhibited in an art gallery.

This sounds like a very interesting project to say the least.
Sometimes I think you can get a very good idea of what street photography is not, simply by browsing the submissions to the photo.net critique forum for street photography. I guess like anything else there are as many varieties as there are photographers.
I like to think of my Farmers Market photos as street photography, though you could make the argument that they are not.
My definition of street photography (off the top of my head) would be spontainious, unposed candid photographs of people taken in public places documenting their activies and emotions in the context of their environment.
My strong preference would be for black & white images using natural and artificial (available) light sources found on location.

Could I be a Centaur instead of an Elve? I think they can run faster and jump higher than Elves.

Hmmm, that is interesting. On my Nikon-D70 (Nikons are the cameras that people write songs about)I can turn off the rotation of the pictures on the camera LCD but they are still tagged in the metadata and auto-rotated in Photoshop.
I guess everyone knows that you can select multiple images in Bridge and rotate them all at once.

How long are your file names? Try renaming the file and then upload again.
-
I have also found (after some hair pulling) that the system does not care for long file names. At least I think that was what was happening. Try changing or shortening the file name.

Can people in the Midwest participate? We have farms, horses and cows here too.

Not that it matters much but I can not get to any of my folders (or others) due to the Nokia redirect ads. I have logged on and off, and messed around with the options in MS Internet Explorer. I just keep being returned to the same screen-hogging ad. I finally just gave up trying to logon from home at all (insert collective WHOOPEE from the crowd). I can still logon from my work PC which appears to do an inferior job of blocking popup ads. It seems counterproductive to make the site unusable for a lot of people and totally pointless from an advertising perspective.
I am generally sick of camera phone ads at this point in time. So sad. Too bad.

In addition to using the save for web option in photoshop CS (if you have that application) make the image somewhere around 600 pixels for the long dimension with the resolution (pixels per inch) set at 72.

This is of course a question no one can really answer for someone else. It is very helpful to get everyones input before making a decision to put what seems like a lot of money (for me anyway) into a camera for playing around with for my own amusement. I guess my hesitation to spend money is a conditioned response from having things around the house break shortly after making some other major purchase. Oh how I envy those people who are able to consistantly place their own wants at the top of the priority list. Well, at least the ones who are not bankrupt already.
What lenses to take to a wedding?
in Leica and Rangefinders

<p>OK don't take this the wrong way but posts like this always confuse me. If you can't figure out what lens to bring you may not know enough about photography to take photos at a wedding. <br>
I really can't figure out why this question is on the front page of photo.net </p>
