1.
A follow up on the Fuji x100 please !
But Im looking very hard around also for a small body with interchangeable lenses.
The GX3 Ricoh looks lovely and just money preventing me from jumping in with both feet and going for this. If you have the lenses I believe you can get a system for under 1000. At the moment Im trying to learn what the best solution is also.

 2.
Im coming from canon with the 350d.
I love the compactness of this system. Im wondering weather to put all my money here.
Going for
1.
Ricoh GXR Interchangeable Unit
2.
Ricoh GXR Mount A12 and go for a lens seperately
or aim for the kit first and learn the camera from there.
I would prefer the larger sensor for low light and perhaps start building up a collection of lenses.
Im reading it only takes M mount for the moment. I would like to get a good fixed focal lens so to use it more as a walk about camera but would like the alternative if possible to use my canon lenses. If not I would be willing to sell the canon lenses I have to invest in this system.

Your ideas? Thanks in advance

 3.
Hi Jens.
Its true the size of the 350D does come in handy but ok you put a lens on it and you will get noticed whether its a 350d or 7D i suppose so no biggy. I will go to a shop and just see all of them it will definitely help.
Regards

 4.
Thanks very much for your feedback
@ Marcus Ian From what I have seen on the web the 5D I has very nice noise handling at high iso and its a FF camera which ideally is where i would like to go. I hear alot about how it is old technology I am not sure if that is a valid point because at the end of the day is it answering the needs of the photographer and will it limit my creativeness. It just does not have video which if i did go for the mark II I would like to experiment with.
@Rob Bernhard Hand held the camera is at its limit. I want a camera that really soaks up the available ambient light. I had the 50f1.8 II wide open, and im not sure there was much else I could do without more camera shake or motion blur.
@Daniel Lee Taylor This is true while I have been debating what camera to buy I have lenses I would also like to go for and if I go for the 60D this will allow me to invest more in some faster glass. Its true I dont need the speed of the 7D neither the 21mp of the 5D II .

 5.
I have EF Lenses (because I hoped one day to get a full frame) I dont shoot much sport. Mainly Architecture , street, weddings and Macro usually I prefer to shoot without flash. Yes my fingers do get in a tangle with my 350d :P and the amount of hunting it does in low light is comical. I try to avoid 800/1600 with 350 but sometimes have to and really they need heavy noise reduction software and lose detail.

 6.
@Matthijs yes im guilty of the reading part leads to too much procrastination.
@Marcus true I think their are too many factors involved to do a direct comparison of 100% between these two cameras. My focus is very much on the noise but my pocket is not.. altothough I would prefer to save up and get something I know I will be happy with rather than regret it in the future. Thanks
@ I will look into that option also. just want something though that will hold its value for the coming years. will see now. Thanks very much ats.

 7.
Hi Matthijs,
This choosing thing is really trying lol. When I make a decisions some thing seems to stop me at the last minute. The pics looks really great and I have read it really is a great camera. You dont think those 100% crops should be the only guiding me then?
TVM

 8.
I've been debating far too long in my mind to upgrade from my 350D. My first option is the 5D II however I could be swayed to go for the 7D and a new lens. It crossed my mind to see what sort of noise improvement I would get if I chose the 7D. I may be wrong but it seems from the comparison charts on the Dpreview that at iso 1600 for eg. there is no real big improvement except perhaps a little loss of detail on the part of the 7D. Am I going crazy? Noise improvement is high on my list if I am to upgrade and on this showing I dont think I will go for the 7D and Just stick with the 5D II

350D http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/canoneos350d/page19.asp
7D http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/canoneos7d/page15.asp
Possibly even the 5D is an option looking at its results they seem much much better. http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/canoneos5d/page21.asp

 9.
@Mendel will see if the warming up will help. The problem is that the initial scan is way over exposed and unable to get any detail back.
@Charles thank your very much for the link. Think I need to experiment more. It seemed like a pretty decent scanner, for photos that is, was not planning to use it for negatives but had some lying around so i thought of archiving them. Thanks also for the tips.

 10.
*Ilford hp5 Plus developed in 1997.
I'm bearing in mind that the age of the film may have some bearing on the output of the image quality. I would like to investigate however if there is any tweaking in the scanner settings that may help in producing better quality images. I'm using a HP Scanjet G3110.
The problem im getting at the moment is over exposure and blown out hightlights. The detail in the negative is not visible in the final image. Also the images are very grainy.
Thanks in advance.

 11.
ok i'll get silly now and say that canon could do a collaboration with gaggia. Its true though unless your patient enough and happy with your current gear purchasing what you believe will suit your needs rather than wait is a good idea. I think both the 7D and 5DII are really well made cameras and will do the job although rumour has it. . .

The rumored convergence of the 1D and 1Ds lines would give you the FF 7D you're looking for at the price you're not.
Darn those guys at Canon ;)

 12.
the 24 L sounds delicious and I looked around quickly for a used 5D on ebay (around the 700$ mark with grip 4 batteries and some other niceties of course im not sure how many clicks its been through) sounds like a more senisible option ;) and with money left over for some glass incl. the 24 L. Got some research to do.
