nice shot, i especially like the contrast between glow of the stem and the dark brown part ( i am not familiar with the parts of the flower now ;) ). i too took some shots of the centre of a similar flower, but they didn't turn out as sharp as this. nice shot -

initally, when i looked at the picture for the first time, i assumed that the bird was extracted from another image and photoshopped into a white background. i then read your explanation.... wow !!! nice work.
