  1. I also received my first Spotmatic SP with a Super-Takumar 1.4/50mm couple of days ago (bought from Ebay) except mine has no battery and cannot check the meter plus the lens is yellow as mentioned by Pablo.

Kind of dissapointing but I'm a camera freak and will go on i.e. try to cure the lens with the UV treatment and buy some silver batteries (385)as indicated by Ben. I'm encouraged by the pictures posted above, really nice performance. In the meantime I'm going to shoot using my Carl Zeiss Tessar 2.8/ 50mm. It should work well. I thank you all for your comments, it helped me as well. Happy shooting,

  2. Hi There,

    I just bought a Pentax Spotmatic with a nicee super-takumar 1.4/ 50mm

lens on eBay when I read in the Yahoo Pentax Forum that said lenses

could suffer in time a depreciation due to the radioactive (!!)

materials used when manufactured 30 years ago. The depreciation

refers to a yellowish colorization of the lens which compromises

    color image on film.

My camera is still on the way but I'm concerned and would like to

have some background just in case. any one here has seen or heard of

such a problem, is there a remedy. many thanks for your valuable

    input.

  3. Hi there, Zeiss Tessar 50/2.8 is an old but very good quality lens

and I figured I could use it on my Nikon f100 (manual mode) with the

right mount adapter. The only problem I have now is that the lens

does not focus on infinity anymore, I think the focal distance

changed due to the adapter. any ideas of correcting this or shall I

limit the use of this lens for closer shoots. thanks for your input

  4. Hi everyone, I recently aquired a nice Yashica D TLR on ebay, mint

condition, works great after few rolls. I had before a Seagull 6x6

which could use a screw-in cable release. I don't see this feature on

Yashica D, shall I relay on the timer only for long exposures on

tripod. your expertise is very much appreciated. thanks
