Very nice Jana!

That's one great girl. Going out on her own to celebrate Australia
Day - grabbing a shot of herself with the Opera house in the
background and smilling like there's no tomorrow... and lucky of me
to catch her as her flash goes off

Thanks for the comments. I appreciate. It was shot at 0.4s at f/22 - ISO 125 with GRAD ND 3soft - 26mm. Taken from an elevated wall on the shore as the sun goes down behind me.Well, not exactly behind me but more like 60 degrees to the right

Michal - Yes they are. Look at the other shot. It is the second time I am in the presence of the phenomena and both times they were green and only green. Unfortunatly I have never seen a muticolored one.

Ah! Where will I go when I get money - Alaska or Iceland? You make Alaska look very enticing and inviting. Great shot!
Cheers!

OK Jana you asked for it! This might be common sight, but not so common for me, and for at least a year I was looking for one of these places. I was drivin' down a road in the eastern township (Quebec, Canada) and I saw it from the corner of my eye. It had snowed heavily the day before. So I parked the car as fast as I could by the side of the country road, the day was fading away. I had maybe twenty minutes of daylight left. I ran into the forest and realized I had snow up to my knees. It was akward to walk around to find the right spot to shoot - I was in a hurry - feet getting wet - hands getting cold. It was dark in there and I didn't have a tripod with me. I had to shoot at f4 (only had a 17-40 f4 and 70-200 f2.8 with me) to get as much light in as I could - and enough speed to hand hold the camera - which caused the near plane focus to be soft and so on... - I ran right and left - I knew there was a good shot somewhere... I took about 30 shots before I left and that's one of the best. I also lost the house keys jumping around in there. And when I left the spot I was parked too close to the ditch and just slipped into it with the car - these country roads are treacherous. I had to wait two hours for a towing truck. But I had a decent shot I liked.
Cheers

Leann, yes it is sad - I found myself there wondering if I should just bury the poor thing...
