Marina, enhorabuena por tus merecidos logros. No entro casi nada en PN últimamente, y siempre que lo hago veo que sigues adelante y cada vez más consagrada. Es una suerte haberte seguido desde las fotos de 2005. Enhorabuena también por haber podido compartir un rato con Jane Goodall, hay personajes en el mundo que merecen la pena, y esta mujer es uno de ellos. En unos años, alguien se hará una foto contigo y dirá: "Aquí estoy yo con Marina Cano..." Quizá yo tenga esa oportunidad... ;-)

Por cierto, buscaré tu libro y miraré la forma de que me lo firmes algún día que me escape a Santander. Lo he hojeado en tu sitio web y las imágenes son realmente únicas, incluso conmovedoras en muchos casos. Creo que es extraordinario.

Me gusta mucho esta imagen, también. Refleja un montón de sentimientos, comunica esa pasión que describes en el título. Si es un autorretrato con trípode, enhorabuena por el resultado creativo. Si es una foto tuya hecha por otro, mi enhorabuena también para él o ella.

This is a really beautiful landscape, in the pathway of best english or even german painters, like Caspar David Friedrich. I don't mean this photo seems like a painting, I hate this kind of comments, but only that the vision of light and composition belongs to the best landscape tradition, and not forcefully the Ansel Adams one. Excellent work. BTW, could you please tell me the exact location or at least the name of that peak at center?

Great lighting work as in all of your photos. The slight blur maybe because low speed or focus is not a problem here, it even contributes to the atmosphere.

I like this one so much. Very good lighting and the fact of having the same view with different lightings across the seasons is very interesting, maybe it has been done on other subjects but it always has great value when done on your own environment, as it is a search on subjects and light. Nice window and great exposure work.

This is a great image, a candid shoot with a wonderful light, a rest in the scene that every dance lover knows, perfectly taken, nicely exposed, and with a movement in composition that reminds the spirit of dance itself. Please, don't stay on the surface. I wonder if Cartier-Bresson came to publish anonimously here we still discuss about correcting perspective in some of his images...

Hacía tiempo que no escribía nada en PN y se me ocurrió echar una mirada a tus fotos. Sorpresa mayúscula y choque frontal con estos ojos... Esta temporada he estado leyendo unos libros de Brooks Jensen que me recomendó Mamen, y, aparte de descubrir a un extraordinario fotógrafo, he descubierto a un gran pensador de la fotografía. Dice Jensen que sólo tienen sentido nuestras imágenes cuando nuestra vida personal la tiene, y sólo progresan nuestras fotos cuando nuestra vida se enriquece con nuestras experiencias propias y las que compartimos con los que nos rodean. Tus fotos reflejan siempre esa intensidad vital, lo sabes transmitir. Fotos como ésta siguen conmocionándome. Un abrazo.

El montaje no tiene mérito, lo hace PS3 automáticamente

Gracias, Pepa. Es un montaje de dos exposiciones digitales con la Sony DSC R1, pasada a B&N en Photoshop CS3, prácticamente sin manipulación, ni siquiera ajuste de niveles. Sólo he aclarado un poco el tronco del árbol en sombra. He hecho un "positivado" o impresión digital en A3 con la Epson 2400 en papel Epson Ultrasmooth Fine Art y el resultado es excelente, en lo que a tonos y calidad se refiere.

Some years ago (maybe 25...) my wife and me were painting an old family house at the countryside, and then a wonderful light came across the window. Having nothing at hand but a small compact Kodak with negative Kodacolor film, I shoot some photographs. The bureau processing of negatives and positives was so awful this photo rested on our family archive until this weekend. Today, after a very complicated scan of the faded negative, I did my best on PS to recover the light I remembered from that instant. In some way, it reminds me "The girl with a pearl herring" from Vermeer...It seemed to me the best I could post to start this new year...

I suppose everyone is doing the right interpretation about the title, obvious as it can be, the best lens is not the one in the camera, but the eye itself!!
