  1. Hello everyone. I am going to buy the Durst L1200 (I've heard it is

as good as it gets ) and would like some info on the Multigraph

system. Can't seem to find much data on it. Is it additive or

subtractive filtration, is it fast to operate and to print, etc? The

other option seems to be the Beseler 45 Universal with the VC module.

Any experiences with it? BTW is there anyplace I can get some info on

the Ilford 600 System? Is it good? Thanks so much for your patience

    (lots os questions!!!) and feedback.

  2. Hello everyone. I am setting a new darkroom and remember seeing an ad for lightproof cloth for darkroom windows. Does anyone know where to get it? Any other ideas to darken a room and still be able to open the windows would be greatly appreciated. Thanking you in advance for your valuable feedback: Marcel
  3. Hello. I am interested in buying a Linhof Kardan GTL 45 4x5 System and want to know thw difference between the AMS and normal camera. I thank you in advance for your valuable feedback.
  4. Hello everyone. I am looking into the com line of arca-swiss cameras. Specifically the m-4x5 com. Does anyone have any experience with this camera and the electronic modules ( sim meter and eidos, microlink shutter)? Thanks in advance for your valuable feedback.

  5. Hello. I'm using the Rz 67 with 110 2.8 and tilt-shift adaptor (macro

work). What is the ideal aperture? Will f/32 cause diffraction

problems? It is almost impossible to get everyting in focus even with

the tilt-shift (limited movement) bellow f/22. Any feedback will be

    inmensly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

  6. Hello. I need some feedback on the developer to use with this film. I

do macro work using 6x7 Rz. What is the overall best developer?

finest grain? tonal range? etc. Is it better to "pull" to 16 asa? As

always, thanx in advance for your valuable feedback.

  7. Hello everyone. I recently stsrted getting an inverted "L" mark

(indent) 15mm from the left and 9mm from the bottom in my 6x7 (Mamiya

RZ) negatives. Please help! It is driving me crazy. Thanks in advance

    for your valuable feedback.

  8. Hello. I use a Contax 645 and a Nikon F5 for outdoors and street photography. I use the Mamiya Rz for studio work. I like each for a different reason; The Contax is light, has a 2.0 80mm lens (fast) and gives me MF for the field. The F5, long lenses, fast motor and "auto everything" when needed. The Rz has the 6x7 neg size which is great for 20x24's, and besides great optics, has a tilt/shift adaptor. I totally disagree with the concept of "MACHO" big cameras. NO 35mm will give the quality 20x24 enlargements you get from 6x7 or 4x5 negs. So with due respect, don't start preaching cheap psychology over camera size.

  9. Hello. I am looking for a ballhead to use with a bogen 3046 and Rz +

tilt shift and various lenses and ext. tubes (mostly macro work).

Does the Arca ball head have a 90 degree slot? Is that the "best"?

Any other recomendations? 'Lot of questions!:-0 Thanks for your

    patience and feedback.

  10. Thanks for all the wonderful feedback. It is just amazing how much it helps to read about real experiences related to a specific product or technique. I do mainly street photography and want a more stable support. A tripod is too heavy (have not tried carbon-fiber or magnesium) takes too long to set up and I feel it attracts more attention. My hope is that a monopod will allow me to set it fast and take the shot. I use eye level prism. Thanks again for all the feedback!

  11. Hello. Can anyone recomend a monopod + head combination for a 645

camera? I've been looking at Gitzo and Bogen, but can't find all the

info I need to make a decision (ballhead, geared head, quick relese,

shoulder brace, #of sections, etc. sooo confusing!). Also, how high

should the monopod be? Most of them are around 1.60 meters. I'm 1.81.

Thanx in advance for the valuable feedback.

  12. Hello. My previous 645 was the ETRS and my current one is the Contax AF. My experience with the Bronica was not a good one. The ETRS is a rather primitive system that has shortcomings in almost every aspect. I am not familiar with the ETRsi. For me, the difference between the ETRS and the contax is like the difference in handling between a bus and a German sports sedan. Needles to say I love the contax. It's light, fast, incrediby sharp (Zeiss optics) and fits my hand like a glove. I use it mostly for street photography and it's the perfect link between my F5 and my RZ67. So my humble opinion: If you can afford the contax (pricier but not by much, considering what you get) GO FOR IT! You will love the camera and specially the results (ain't that what it is all about!). Hope this helps.>>>>[o]<<<<

  13. Hello everyone. I just purchased some delta 3200 and realized I have

almost no info on this film. So I have a couple of questions for the

kind people who make MFD such a BIG help (this forum has saved my

behind a couple of times alredy!). 1) How does this film react to PMK

pyro (times and rating) 2)What is the general experience with this

    film? 3) Any special recomendations?

    Thanks a lot guys!

  14. Hello. My work is almost exclusively 20x24 fine art (not commercial) b&w prints. For whatever it's worth, I use agfapan 25 rated 16 and develop with PMK pyro. I have yet to find finer grain in 6x7 negatives. I also use variable contrast paper and a cold light head, and the stain you obtain with the pyro enhances the lower contrast spectrum. Worth a try.

  15. Hello everyone. First, thanks to all the contributors to this forum,

it REALLY helps me. My question is: Does the combination monopod and

contax 645 with 210 f4 lens sound correct? I shoot a lot of urban

scenes and use mostly delta 400 film. The reason for the monopod

being weight and speed to set up. Has anyone used a monopod with a

645 or any other MF camera? Thanks in advance>><<!!

  16. Hi! First of all, thanx for the topic, I was struggling between mamiya, pentax and contax. I just bought the contax with the 80 2.0 and the 210 4. I use the RZ 67 for studio and the F5 for field. So I was looking for the medium format camera that could do both. The contax is a sweet camera, the complaints about the materials used in the camera seem rather out of place. Do not be mistaken! This is a pro contax in and out. It feels light enough to be hand-held and sturdy enough to go on any assignment (only time will tell if its true!) but it feels totally "right". I had a chance to take the mamiya 645 pro for a spin, and benig a devoted RZ user was convinced I was going to buy the camera. I was very dissapointed. First, the 75mm lens felt like a crappy old fashioned vivitar instead of the legendary mamiya optics (most lenses for the RZ will blow your mind!) Second, it felt "cheap". So, I bought the contax and absolutely love this camera! I hope this will help someone in the same position I was. Again THANKS to all the people that take time to contribute their honest comments!!! Marcel:)
