Another great image, Jeff. Great sky and the balance in the scene is just right. Great work!

What a beautiful image. You have captured a great moment - what a rare man he must have been. Bravo.

Captures the destitute and eerie nature of this place. The toning is very nice as well. Regards, Ken

Perhaps the best portrait I have seen on PhotoNet. Bravo.

Jeff, I like the "painting" look that you have given this image. The lines are very good, culminating at the point where the bow meets the strings and then taking the eye to the great facial expression of the musician. As a musician myself, I have a soft spot for this subject; I assume that he is is a North American bluegrass/old-time player, but he could also be a gypsy fiddler. Great shot. Regards, Ken

Thanks for your comment, John. It is a beautiful old building - a former residence. Regards, Ken

Thanks Alfredo. I appreciate the comment. Regards, Ken

Thanks for the comment Jef. Unfortunately, this was an old and badly damaged negative which required a lot of retouch work. I agree the contrast is a little soft. Regards, Ken

This photo works well in so many ways - the texture, the contrast, the composition. The grain is especially nice; you demonstrate that the noise that so many complain about in small sensor cameras can be used to great creative effect. A great image.

I'll vote for the B&W version - great tonality and a more classic look than the color one. Nice shot.

Thank you both for your comments. The dark tone is where I was going with this one (as usual, it seems). I very much appreciate the positive words.

I'm not sure if you had Andreas Feininger on your mind when you took this, but it certainly reminds me of his masterpiece "The Photojournalist." In a very good way I might add. Whether the channeling is intentional or not, it works very, very well. Funny and weird at the same time - a great combination. Great work!

One of a series that I took of the great guitarist and songwriter Richard Thompson after a
performance in New Orleans. Comments welcomed.
