A stunningly original capture which I presume was taken in a less than ideal situation ... I like the way you have overcome the varied light and used the perspective effect of the long corridor to form a natural golden frame.. wow, good job.

Thanks again to everyone who left a comment/critique. Your words of wisdom were greatly appreciated and prompted me to heed some of this advice and upload a slightly different image... infact just some lightning (as much as I dare) of the dark coat just to add some texture. Here it is...

Wow... this monochrome certainly jumped out at me. Love the mood you captured here CH. The splendid light with low sun and distant sea haze work well. The dynamism of the runner and the foreground 'hand-washer' surrounded by ripples add much to this shot. Personally it brings back lots of memories... of late summer afternoons at the beach, when everyone is starting to pack-up and return home... thanks. I'm curious to the location, perhaps the Lisbon coast ...Estoril, Carcavelos?
