    Hi Stephen

Sorry didnt leave a comment when first rated, didnt see the request, good photo but my opinion that these water movement/waterfall shots are way overdone on PN, hence the origionality for me is average, the aesthetics of this shot in my opinion are good, hence 5/4

I dont want to blow the good ratings you just got, but this is a fairly average portrait of an impala, and not difficult to achieve realistically in many African reserves. Positive comment, the saturation is great , and the horns are imoressive, if you could crop the road out or have re-composed without it when the impala moved it would have been better, but good work.

I agree with Christiaan and John. It definately deserves more than a 4/4, simply to get a shot like this is outstanding, the only improvement for this photo could have been better light at the time of the action, which is impossible to get, you just have to be lucky. Saying this however someone might think its a Zoo shot and rate it badly or just not be interested in wildlife, or know what it takes to get a shot like this. Award winner for behaviour alone, 7/7
  1. Great shot, especially the circular blurring of the background, image is crisp. A suggestion of mine would be to move the bird into the centre of the frame, or even slightly to the right (as it is looking this way, and maybe to increase the saturation a bit to get the browns and greens more prominent, but thats probably a personal taste, Think I have already rated this photo but anyway its a 6/6 for me
  2. Its the depth of field Michael, impossible to do as far as I know, unless you really alter with PS presumably, taken with one spotlight to higlight the cub of choice, in the foreground. Also not a studio photograph, taken from a landrover in the middle of the african bush with a tracker holding the spotlight in an attempt to synchronise with the photographer.
