Canon EOS Digital Pyscho? No? Anyone?
-
HaHa.......very good Beau, very good!
-
I hear the Japanese version has the Godzilla theme tune! Seriously though, is that just a poor recording, or is it really the noise the camera makes?
-
Phil Askeys preview is up.

It seems like it has the Pyscho shower scene music for a shutter
sound...........strange.

"Dude, is there any real point to this thread apart from bragging about your 300D, Canon lenses and higher-end Canon aspirations?
If you are looking at cameras with pixel count over performance then I am left scratchng my head as to why you would have even considered something like the D2H as an upgrade from a D70 (I interpreted that as your final deciding factor for the 300D from your initial post w.r.t. to future upgrades and lens compatibility)"
The point is that the cameras released by Nikon (such as the D2Hs) are not serious competitors to Canons higher end models, and if they are not, there is no pressure on Canon to reduce their pricing of those models, which is bad for the consumer.
-
Still, excluding the 8MP (Marginal) and MLU, there is nothing that the D70 doesn't already have. It would want to be competitively priced methinks. Any link for the 60mm macro anyone?
-
Dunno if its amazing Jerry, its just about waht everyone expected, except that it doesn't share the same sensor as the 20d.

Still workin for me Bob.

No its a BG-E3 new.......

At last!

I suppose what really makes the Canon system more appealing is the greater choice of lenses, which sell for less money, and the full range of DSLR bodies which cover the range from novice to advanced amateur to PJ/sports to studio. OK MP aren't the be all and end all of photography, but wouldn't it be nice to have some latitude where that is concerned?
-
Daniel, from what I've read, here and elsewhere, the only reason many Nikon users are still Nikon users is their investment in glass, but of course there are many satisfied Nikon users. Camera phones Kelly?
-
I suppose the innovators do steal a march on the rest Giampiero, until someone else improves upon their idea. The problem is Nikon aren't doing it for the most part.
-
Has anyone read the thread on the D2Hs over on the Nikon forum? It
makes me glad that I chose a 300d a few months ago, after agonising
about the D70 (even though its a better camera) for quite some
while. Greater choice of top notch and affordable (the 4L's) glass
was the tipping point, but with an eye on a top notch 1.3X or full
frame camera in the future. Its a shame really that Nikon can't get
their act together, as real competition can only be good for the
consumer.

I stand corrected, thank you Godfrey.

Isn't the lack of a mechanical shutter a significant reason why digicams have shutter lag? The buffer is always full and needs to be flushed before the image is taken?

The 300d kit with battery grip is already E799. Given that the best price I can find from a reputable dealer for the 20d kit is E1430, I would expect the 350d to be way less than E1100. It will have to be in the E899 range (for the kit) to steal the show from the D70. Expect D70 features with 8MP sensor. An EF-S lenses of comparable quality to the nikon 18-70, for a similar price would be nice too. But I suppose thats the 17-85 isn't it? WAY overpriced from what I hear.

Hi all, I'm thinking of buying an R800 after reading many great
reviews. What I couldn't find in any of them, or on PN for that
matter, was how many prints a set of ink cartridges will do. I know
that this will of course vary depending on what size you are
printing, what quality settings you use, and whether you are printing
B+W etc. I would like to hear from users on their views / estimates
on this matter. Thanks in advance to those who reply.

I was just wondering what everyones prediction was for the 300d
replacement? It's only 2 weeks away, so Bob can't really categorise
this as a rumour thread.............

Is it just me or are a lot of recent threads descending into abuse? Personally I think there is no call for any of it. Maybe people have got the January blues?

Maybe Bangkok will be your paradise city?

For a good soundtrack to your trek, listen to song 1 Appetite for destruction, Guns 'N' Roses, Geffen records, 1987. Come to think of it, the rest of the album ain't too bad either........

Dunno about the rain forest or any jungle type things, but is it really necessary to list your qualifications? I just finished my doctorate (maths), but I kinda hate people who list their qualifications in the phone book etc..........John Doe BSc, MSc, Phd, CIA, FBI, MPG, PSI.......SOB..:)
