What do u prefer and Y?

Using the center focus to focus and then recompose is probably faster. Plus

on cameras like Canon 30D/5D where other focus points are not as good as a

center you'll have more infocus pics.

My second 580 flash LCD is not iluminated as brite as my other one.

IN manual it does not say that I can control the ilumination. Should I

exchange it?

This is just my personal opinion on a new Metz 58. Got my hands on it

yestreday and I got to tell you that the build quality feels cheap compared to

my Canon 580.

Controls in the back is just four push buttons and takes longer to switch from

one

mode to another. For example to change EV in TTL or A mode it took 5 clicks to

just get to the EV screen.

As you probably know Metz 58 can work as "master" and "slave"with Canon

flashes. So I set up Metz as "slave" and Canon 580 as "master". It seems to

work fine. But, to change the mode to "slave" B took 8 or 9 clicks.

I also did a comparison of Metz in "TTL", "A" and Canon in "TTL" and the

result was that with Metz I compensated to +1 (inboth TTL & A mode) and Canon

+1 1/3 to get the correct exposure.

I only tested the flash indoors.

The biggest drawbacks is for me is the build quality and time to change the

flash to different modes.

I will stick with two Canon 580 flashes.

How many of you use histogram in RGB mode and how many use it only in

luminance mode?

What are the advantages of each?

Anybody tried it? It supose to work in Auto mode on nikon flash. Share your

experiences if you tried.

Thank you all. THis website I did it on my own. I can take your suggestions and change the pix on the front page. But, I can't do much else. Like "flash, the 'click to activate' message appears" and I have no idea how to add a botton for music on/off. I can totally take out the music.
