  1. Hi everyone!

I am ready to invest in a monitor calibration tool and have narrowed it down to the

Colorvision line. Yes, I know there are others but to save on confusion and money - lets

just stick with it. I am using a Mac (OS X) and Photoshop CS. I sometimes print my

photographs at home using my Epson RX500 but mostly I use outside printing sources. I

might invest in an Epson 2200 at a later date but that's far into the future. So with that

info in mind, which would you recommend and why...

The Spyder w/ Photocal, The Spyder w/ Optical, The Spyder w/ Optical and Profiler Plus

    (the SpyderPro Suite)

I know this topic has been discussed a great deal but I wasn't able to fine a post that

addresses my specific question - my apologies if I missed it. Thank you all for your help in

this most important (but frustrating!) decision!

    Best Regards,

    Ellen

  2. Hi everyone! I've just signed up on photo.net but I'm so pleased to have found it. I guess I

am one of the minority who prefers still-life/product photography to portraiture (at least

beyond my family members). Your weekly lighting themes are exactly what I was looking

for, especially since you can find umpteen sources for instruction about lighting portraits

but not so much for still life. Garry, if I lived in the UK, I'd sign up for the photography

instruction offered at your studio in a heartbeat!

So anyway, thank you so much for your very helpful information re: lighting the still-life

and PLEASE keep those themes coming.

p.s. Any books that other site members can recommend for lighting product shots?
