  1. John,

I understand that film and digital media has its own advantages/ disadvantages and I am only trying to compare resolution of high end digital v/s scanned 35mm film. Please keep in mind that my skills are constant factor here.

I am an amateur photographer and I am interested in Nature/ architectural photography. Thanks.

    Roger,

Do you use minolta/ Nikon scanner? If you print them what size one can print with scanned 35mm film. Thanks.

  2. I know that people must have asked this question several times, but I

wasn't able to find answers in archives. I was reading about

Minolta's new Dimage Scan Elite 5400 II which produces 42.2 megapixel

digital files from 35mm film negatives. Does it mean that it has the

capability to produce better results than Nikon's D2X or Canon's EOS

1Ds Mark II in terms of resolution? I have Nikon F5 and D70 and I

wanted to know if I scan negatives on Minolta's Dimage, would it give

me better resolution than high end Nikon or Canons? I like digital

workflow as much as I appreciate beauty of film. I am planning to

buy Nikon D2X/D200 and wanted to know if I should keep my Nikon F5

and get a scanner instead. Thanks in advance.

  3. I am planning to buy a fisheye for my D70 and my choices are:

    1. Nikon Fisheye 10.5mm f/2.8 ED DX Autofocus

    2. Nikon Fisheye 16mm f/2.8D Autofocus

Both these lenses have same price after rebates. I am only planning to use this lens on

    D70.

    Thanks.

  4. Thanks, Rob.

I am new to SLR lenses. Can you tell me how much wide angle I would loose if I use the

lower end of lens at 24mm v/s 18mm. I am gaining much zoom, right?

Thanks for your response. I appreciate it.

    Anil.

  5. I bought Nikon D70 with kit lens, 18-70 mm ED lens 2 weeks ago. I recently saw Nikon

24-120 mm VR lens. I am planning to sell kit lens and get 24-120 mm VR lens as it has

better zoom and of course, VR.

My question is that if 24-120 mm VR is a good lens? I am new to DSLR world, and I would

appreciate any feedback on this question.

  6. I am a new user of Nikon D70. I have the outfit 18-70 mm lens and I am planning to buy

a Telephoto lens. I have following three options, If someone can help me in choosing the

    lens:

    1. Nikon - 70-300mm F4-5.6 'G' Autofocus Zoom Lens

    2. Nikon - 70-300mm f/4-5.6D ED Lens

    3. Sigma tele lens, like Sigma - 70-300mm F4-5.6 APO Super Lens for Nikon AF

PS: What's the difference in Nikon "G" and "ED" lenses.
