  1. I realy miss the meter on my Olympus OM4.That camera was stolen from me.It had spot metering.I could take several spot meter readings, and the camera would avarege all the readings and come up with an exposure. It also had Highlite and Shadow. And if I'm not mistaken,it had an exposure lock where you could depress the shutter half way to lock exposure, recompose, fire the shutter, and reset for the next pic.
  2. On the A-1,the exposure lock button does't lock,or is it a defect on my camera.

I'm talking about the button above the meter button, located by the side of the

    lens mount.

  3. The Agfa Isolette folder is the camera to buy,if you want to try

medium format. Those other cameras, like the TLR's,are way too bulky

to carry around. The Isolette is nice and slim. When you're ready to

take a picture, press the button on the left, and the door opens, and out

comes the lens and bellows. Its the type of camera that makes you

think. It has no meter, you have to use "sunny f16" rule. It has just

a viewfinder to compose your shot. Focusing is done by "guess-

timating". Depending on which lens comes with the camera, you have to

remember not to shoot to close to the sun(flare). Like I said, its a

camera that makes you use your head.

  4. Thats the man! I like his website. He has alot of info. Does your

Rolfix have IR mark on lens? And are you capable of using filters?

I'm trying to locate the 30mm push on filter holder for the Isolette.

Tough to find, even on Ebay. I know the Isolette uses 120,but I've run

220 in it. You just keep window open and advance untill you see film.

Slide it closed, tape over it. Advance film untill you hear 3rd click.

Take photo, advance to 3rd click, and so on. Try it out,let me know.

I will now leave here, and start an Isolette thread(medium format).

  5. David..................I was reading one of your posts. I too have an

Agfa Isolette(model II). It was my dads. I'm running some film through

it. I've found someone online who refurbishes these cameras. His web

site exscapes me right now,but when I find his site I'll post it. I

will prolly buy one of his refurbished Isolette with the better lens

and shutter. Do you use the Isolette for ir?

  6. I can't wait to shoot my first pictures! I see everyone elses pics

and I would be satisfied if my pics turn out only half as good. Of

course with more experience, mine will be better than all of them.

    LOL.

  7. I'm glad I joined Photo.net. Thanks to all of you. I would prefer

mf because of the negative size. I would probably just do wide-field

work for now, with some kind of motorized tracking mount. I'm thinking

about getting a Kiev 60 and the CZ Jena Sonnar lens. Any suggestions?

  8. Thanks everyone........It seems like the Noctilux is not for me. I'm

going to concentrate my efforts on Canon. I currently own an A1,and

I'm shure I remember Canon having an f/1 or lower than f/1 lens. But

usualy at wide open most lenses are not as sharp to the edges.

  9. I have read many responses about using 35mm cameras and lenses

for astrophotography. What about medium format? Is equipment to

costly? Too bulky? The size of the film insignificant?
