The sadness of the young soldiers resting in the holy grounds is

tangible on days when there is a fog ....

THis is one of the first pictures made with my recently acquired D800,

and afterwards converted with Nik silver effects into black and white

......

Simon, i do like this picture very much.

The sharpness in the sky area and the unsharpness in the foreground of the landscape part makes it very nice. The colors are beautiful. I could hang this on the wall in my bedroom i think.

Please let me know your opinion on this shot of the entrance of the beautiful War Cemetery in Margraten the Netherlands. It's a pity that i can not put this picture online in its original format, the original is 4x bigger, and shows many beautiful details.

I have visited the place several times, and it always looks very beautiful and well cared for.

It is very sad that this place was founded as the result of the many US soldiers that lost their lives during WW II in the Netherlands.

This picture was composed of 2 images made with nikon D100 in raw format, and processed in 2009 with Capture NX sw.

The original panorama is 5300 x 1600 pixels, and unfortunately to large to show on photo.net

The 2 pictures were shot without a tripod, with a AF-D 35mm lens on F11, at 1/400 sec, iso 200.

I like this area in Italie very much, and am tempted to go back a.s.a.p., to try my more modern DSLR and lenses.

As one can see, a simple 35 mm lens can do miracles.

The colors look a bit warm , but if i remember well it was end of afternoon when i was there.

Wih modern software available, it is a joy to look back at pictures show in raw some years ago, and see what can be obtained from the original file.

Very beautiful, this was created by a master of art.

I try to create photographic images that do not present just an image

as is, Both the lighting and reflectons in silk, together with the

colors is a combination that is untouchable with the bare eye.
