VR or fast?
in Nikon

I was wondering if a VR lens is better than a fast lens. I have an older sigma ex f2.8 and was wondering if i should get into some newer lens's with VR and if the pics would be better. maybe even the optics are better too, even though the lens is is slow.
-

How do you know you got a good picture thru post processing? Everyone does it. I don't have that eye to say okay, it looks great. There are tons of pictures on here and other sites that look great. I can post process till the cows come home and the photos aren't that good afterwards. It's not all in the software either, you have to know when to say when. Thanks, maybe it's just a gift.

its toast, i tried everything the first time around. had to to send it in.the problem is intermitte at best. the big flash is nice, i have the 600, but i don't want that thing on all the time, the camera and lense are heavy enough.no remote firing with mine until i get the pop up fixed. i did try that and it works good. you need acouple 800's or 600's to really get it right.the pop up and the 1 flash don't really cut it.

i had to send the d200 in 6 months ago because the pop up flash wouldn't fire. now its not working again. if i take a
bunch of shots real fast the flash will start working. once i close it, it won't work again. no flash symbol in the corner
either. it went back to nikon, they can't fix it right the first time???? anyone else have that issue with any nikon????
twice with the same camera and the same issue, someone must be have the same problem.
-
how about lenses and filters and such??? thanks for the tips. can puffins be found??? seal island, but i'll never get close enough.

we were heading to acadia for a vacation. any good stuff for photos up there? yah i
know theres landscape stuff, but anything i should really see????

i was wondering where to get prints done from negatives. i wanted to make some
larger prints to frame. most quick places don't do anything bigger than 8x10.do
i have to mail them away???

someone wrote me that nikon would send me one. it was just in for repair and they didn't replace it, so i doubt they will send me one.

Does anyone have an extra sync terminal cover for a D200? i lost the cover and
wanted to get one. If not, do you know where i can get one?its the cover for
the side terminal, not the front terminal.

theres a tamron converter too thats exactly like the kenko. they work with that lens, i'm not sure if auto focus is lost due to the slower lens. you need a fast lens for those to work properly.

i bought a used d200 and the pop up flash won't work. i was wondering if there
was a setting for it. i did everything in the manual but nothing work. the
flash symbol doesn't come on in the bottom right hand corner of the view finder
when the pop-up is up. the guy said he'd take it back, i was just wondering of
a fix if so.the hot shoe is fine, i tried my 600 on it.

i never got why you would hook a gps to a camera?whats with that????

looking for a good wireless remote to mess around with some bird pics. set up
the camera close and fire from far away. any ideas for this?i know they have
beam shutter releases and stuff like that but i don't know where to look.i was
gonna get the new nikon wireless remote but i wasn't sure if it would fire from
behind.the make these releases that only get triggered from the front, i don't
want to be in the picture.even the D70 release, everyone loves it compared to
the 10 pin hook up, you have to stand right in front of the camera to fire
it.put a sensor on the back of the camera.nowhere does it state that when you
use a remote you have to stand directly in front of the camera.
-
why not? except for the e on the end, they are the same battery.even the charger is the same.thanks
-
can i use my d70 battery in the d200? the d200 battery is light gray and the
d70 is black but they say the same model number.thanks

sonoran desert museum is good too.
300mm f4
in Nikon
Posted

I bought a 300mm f4 for birds. Seems a little soft on the focus. I tried the AF fine tune on my D300. Are these known for their softness? Definitely not tack sharp.
