  1. Hello, all. I am having an internal debate on wheater to sell up my rights to

wedding images for a particular wedding client. I met with this couple last

week (both nice looking-great for photos!) and they are undecided to book me

or not. I sent them a friendly reminder email today to see if they decided to

book their June wedding with me. She emailed me back saying that their budget

was tight and asked if I would consider selling my rights to their images. My

wedding packages are on the low to mid-budget range for my area and I feel

like they are getting a lot already with the package they are considering($850

package). The problem is that I don't get very many weddings a year (4 booked

for 2007) and any income I can get is great. Should I consider selling them

the rights and if so, how much?? Can I make it contingent on getting the $850

package (not the $650 package)? You can view my service prices and what it

includes on my website www.janawilliamsphotography.net . Please be kind about

my portfolio- I am no $5000 photographer, just a newbie learning the ropes!

Thanks in advance for all your help!

  2. Hello, I am windows user looking for a flush mount album design software that

doesn't require photoshop CS2. I have looked through alot software for album

design software but all of them have required CS2. I don't really have the

funds or desire to plung into the CS2 quite yet and the Elements 5.0 is just

fine for my level of experience. I would really like software that has

templates or mats because I am not very creative when it comes to desinging. I

have seen a few places that include album design software if you use their

products (pictology.com and renissance albums) but I am not interested in

using thier products. Thanks for all your help in advance!

  3. I am just getting started with the digital wedding photography and I have opted for using Kodak's "photo books". You can get them from snapfish or shutterfly (both good quality). They are really affordable ($20-$70) and my clients love them (so far)! If you are shooting digital and just getting started I would suggest offering these instead or in addition to the traditional albums. Kodak has the best quality (formerly OFoto). I order them through www.kodakgallery.com . Good luck with the photo biz!
  4. I am very new to the digital world and I wanted to see if anybody could help

me with my "proofing" delima. I plan to use CD proofing and watermark my

images. But I also have seen photographers put the file name at the bottom of

the image. I assume these are not manually typed in but I am not sure how

these can be put on the bottom of an image. I have uploaded a sample of what I

am talking about. I cropped out the rest of the photo because it is another

photographers work. Can anyone help? If it is a photoshop thing I have

    Photoshop Elements 5.0.

    THANKS!<div>00IJWg-32787284.jpg.6936e70a598bcd168e1d4335dc6a92df.jpg</div>

  5. I am searching for the right lighting equipment. I know am fairly

inexperienced when it comes to indoor portrait lighting. Stobe

lighting has a aprox. daylight tempature but continuous is 3200K and

must be used with tunsten balanced film or a filter. What is better

for a novice like me? With the continous light, what type of filter

would be used? With the stobe, can the regular lights be on or does it

need to be really low light in the room?
