    Cobblers lodge

          1

More than 60 years ago this was the house of a shoemaker down in the

village some 15 kilometers south of this place. It was dismantled

and sledged by horse during winter to this place where it became a

hunting lodge. There are still no modern conveniences here and

nobody cares. One can have a wash when the annual moose hunt is

over. Candle light is not only romantic, it is good enough in a

place where men still are men :-)

    Focks fox

If your surname is Fock and you succeed in handfeeding a wild fox

(cub) then the pictures caption is obvious.

It was a dark evening and no time for exclusive features so it had

to be head on with built in flash.

    Sawmill

One evening in our hunting-lodge, far out in the wilderness, an old

friend of mine told me that somewhere down the stream there once had

been a sawmill. 200 years ago someone hewed his timber here during

the winter and sawed his planks during the summer. Then he had to

wait for the next winter to sledge his lumber home by horse.

Every year for 34 years I have spent one week here hunting and newer

saw anything like a sawmill. The next day I went down the stream and

within a couple of stone's throws I found it. I spent a while there

humbly thinking of my ancestors efforts.
