20°C below, the still not frozen river is steaming in the background.
The lantern is a part of the blacksmiths sign.
A flash of the sun through one of the icicles attracted my attention.

Two men from Chile (!) shovelled ice and snow from our roof today.
The ice fell everywhere but on these bikes.

British english: elk. American english: moose. But OK, this elk is a golden moose. :-)

And so, after all these years hunting for elk, there he was: the
golden elk

This is how far the salt sea reaches into Stockholm.

More than 60 years ago this was the house of a shoemaker down in the
village some 15 kilometers south of this place. It was dismantled
and sledged by horse during winter to this place where it became a
hunting lodge. There are still no modern conveniences here and
nobody cares. One can have a wash when the annual moose hunt is
over. Candle light is not only romantic, it is good enough in a
place where men still are men :-)

One evening in our hunting-lodge, far out in the wilderness, an old
friend of mine told me that somewhere down the stream there once had
been a sawmill. 200 years ago someone hewed his timber here during
the winter and sawed his planks during the summer. Then he had to
wait for the next winter to sledge his lumber home by horse.
Every year for 34 years I have spent one week here hunting and newer
saw anything like a sawmill. The next day I went down the stream and
within a couple of stone's throws I found it. I spent a while there
humbly thinking of my ancestors efforts.

Good PS job. Dramatic landscape. Good light.
Without the trashy horsebox I would have rated 6/5.

We needed lee from the notherly wind and here we found it.

The vikings made a toxic drink from this mushroom, drank it and then
went berserk. I might try it some day :-)

For those of you who rated low esthetics for "The end" :-)

They have been there for three months now so I don't hesitate to name
this a Still Life.
