<p>Yes it was a sad time when I got my last K25 from B&H. Kodachrome's demise was hastened by the photo magazines that touted various fuji films. I had used K25 in one body and K200 in another for when light faded. Many personal favorites are on Kodachrome, so it is sad to see it go. Kodak is not Coca-Cola, so I don't expect to see Kodachrome Classic show up. Still if it did, I'd be nearly first in line.</p>

<p>Kodachrome may one day become the "Coca-Cola Classic" of film, but Buffet owns Coke, not Kodak. So I won't hold my breath.<br>
Kodak will more likely go the way of the Berkshire mills.</p>

<p>I too have pictures of the Fair Lawn processing plant. I made many trips there to drop off film. The last time there was a sign up saying that I need to bring the film to the FairLawn post office, where it could be forwarded to a processing plant.<br>
The Fair Lawn location is now a field of weeds, they tore down the building a while ago.</p>

<p>I have not been able to shoot for the sake of shooting, so two rolls remain in my fridge. Even Velvia will work on the snowbank outside, so I guess I have collector's items now. How would we be able to find out if another opportunity to procees these last rolls ever comes up?<br>
I would not want to miss it again.<br>
It is a very sad day.</p>

I found anotrher alternative. I copied files to a flash card, and could open them on my other comuter with no problem. It's a way around the problem, but I'd still like to be able to write to CD/DVD and have other computers be able to read them.

Thanks for your help everyone. There's a lot more to know about photography than just taking pictures these days

As far as I know the burn process was finished. I can retrieve all of the images from the cd in the computer from which I copied the images. I am copying with windows explorer, from hard disk to cd
The make compatible function tells you that it is complete.

I am having trouble copying jpeg images to cd. I hope there is a fix for this.
My pc is a dell and has both cd and dvd drives. I want to be able to copy
images to cd and give them to other people to display and/or print. I can copy
to cd easily enough. I then run a "make compatible" function. For some reason
this does not work. I can retrieve the images from the cd only in my own
computer, and not in any other computer that I have been able to try.
Does anyone know how to overcome this?

I AM UNDECIDED ABOUT THE VALUE OF PUTTING MY F-A INTO THE SHOP FOR
REPAIR. MECHANICALLTY IT IS WORKING JUST FINE, BUT INTERNAL
COMPNENTS HAVE BEGUN TO BREAK DOWN. THERE ARE PIECES OF BLACK GUNK,
A SEALER OF SOME SORT THAT ARE SHOWING UP ON THE MIRROR. I'M NOT
SURE IF IT IS BAD ENOUGH TO LET LIGHT IN, BUT IT MAY BE HEADED THAT
WAY. I STILL USE MY F-3, SPARINGLY, BUT MOSTLY USE THE F-100 NOW.
THE F-3 IS FOR WHEN I WANT TO SHOOT DIFFERNT FILMS AT THE SAME TIME.
IT ALSO IS BETTER SUITED TO MY OLD MANUAL FOCUS LENSES.
I JUST WANT TO GATHER OPINIONS AS TO WHETHER IT IS WORTH THE
EFFORT/EXPENSE TO HAVE IT OVERHAULED
If Astia is gone, then how much longer for Velvia and Provia

<p>Film may enjoy an upmarket resurgence, much like the mechanical watches turned out by Rolex and the like. As am amatuer and an old fart, I'm sad to see that the old standard Kodachrome has bitten the dust.<br>
Kodak has thrown their rolex in the trash.</p>
