It's not a photoshop composite, it's a natural phenomenon that occurs at a certain time of day when the sun crosses in front of the waterfall, filtered through the trees overhead and lights up the mist in front of the falls.

The location is Ramona Falls at the base of Mount Hood in Oregon, and the shot is very similar to one taken by Marc Adamus several years ago.

Sunset forms over Crater Lake in southern Oregon. This is the deepest

lake in the United States, located at the peak of a dormant volcano.
