Thanks for your comments. Antonio I agree with you about the crop. The lighthouse is in the middle, it's true, but I think the waves and the birds is enough powerful to create a good scene.

With regards to unreal waves, maybe it's an optical illusion, because there are really big waves in winter storms.

Nelson, it was not a phenomenon, it was like I said a winter storm. But yes, nobody tried to be close to the lighthouse. The Ferry who travel to England stayed in port those days. Thanks!

Steven, the lighthouse is in Santander, Cantabria, the North coast of Spain.

Since 1921 nobody lives in the lighthouse. Before there was a keeper but he died in a storm.

About the second question, I don't know, maybe is the BW image.

Thanks to you all for the great feedback. With regards to the color version, the atmosphere was grey, just a wash blue without interest.

Thanks for the suggestion about the crop. It works better without the centered lighthouse, but I think the direction of the waves needs some space.

The lighthouse light has 38.7 meters over the sea level. The tower 18,39 meters.

Thanks to you all for your thoughts.

John, it's true, I took this picture a couple of days ago. There was a great storm in the  North coast of Spain. Galicia too.

Lev, the lens I used was Canon 100-400mm at 330mm. You can take a look at technical details for more information.

Sandra, thanks for your clever comment. It would be better to crop at left, but I leave the original frame.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I think the last pictures I took doesn't deserve so many low ratings. The only thing I can think it's: they bark so we ride.

I'm aware there has been a  lot of thoughts about this matter, but the problem still go on. Photo.net managers could take care with some unfair and continued undeserved ratings. Everybody knows to distinguish between a good or a bad picture. Everyone has different taste, but good and bad are opposite and easy to see. There are many awesome images from great photographers treated unfairly. Photonet is a great web with a huge problem. It's disappointing to see that it happens once, twice.... a lot of times. I think Photo.net doesn't deserve it, and managers could be more carefull with this unfair game.

Thanks Bob, Jean-Marc, Erik. Yes this is a real storm in the North coast of Spain a couple of days ago. Every winter we have three or four great storms. I look forward the next one.

Thanks Monte, for your comment. I agree with you. This picture is more expressive. The mostly of us have to deal with unfair people. By the way, your work is amazing.
