It helps quite a bit when one has the patience to read the description =)

This would look good if done with extreme care. And the light areas (the building, the foreground rooftop, the fields in the left) are a bit too light for that kind of sky. It might well be worth the effort to try it... Very good idea, and there's nothing "modern" in picture which is kind of requirement.

  1. This is good picture. What strikes my eye is that sky. That shade of blue just looks a bit too artificial to be true - it's like a candy.

Even if the foreground is a bit dark, I like it that way. It gives the picture feeling of something being in shadows, out of the daylight.

  2. This picture looks just strange with those completely black bushes and trees and burnt white building, this including that dome which is totally white and looks almost two-dimensional. If the light is really that strong and this is not some odd feature from scanning or "adjusting" the levels, it might help to take the picture when the white walls does not act as a direct reflectors for the sun. It would also introduce few shadows, and as you can see, the only wall that has almost normal grays is the side of that left wing.

When it comes to composition a little more rule of the thirds would have helped. Maybe moving a bit to the left to avoid those branches, taking just a little more of those stairs into the picture and giving that dome some space to its right side?
