  1. It would be even better if a camera was designed so the sensor can tilt,

this is an error, Scheimpflug applies only to the lense, on a LF camera you see a clear difference between tilting front standard or rear, rear changes perspective^^

  2. I think a 120-300/2.8 PF for Z-mount would be interesting - especially if the weight would be similar to that of the 70-200/2.8.

How should this work, glass is heavy, the larger the more

  3. Make sure you get the best possible WLF when shopping potential bodies. The older C220 and most C330 came with an old-school WLF with flaps gaps and holes that leak annoying reflections on the screen like crazy. Some of the later 330f (and all of the final 330-S and 220-F) come with modern self-erecting. sealed-box WLF that are excellent at keeping stray light off the screen. Over the years, many C330 and C330F were upgraded to the newer WLF: opt for one of those if possible. The older, less desirable WLF is easily identified by the flip-up magnifier floating above the side flaps, leaving huge open gaps around it. The newer WLF has vertical side hinges and a fitted flip up magnifier that forms a sealed cube.

    the most important point,

and I never have had fungus issues on C330 lenses,

and for me the best of all the very good lenses is the 180

    have fun

  4. I agree with what all the others are saying.

Remember first of all that DOF is dependent both on focused distance(or more correctly magnification ratio) and aperture. If you've ever done macro work, you know that even at f/32, DOF is almost non-existent.

Also, DOF is something of an abstract concept anyway. The scales on 35mm lenses assume roughly an 8x10 print size, and will deliver an acceptably sharp result over the indicated range at that size print.

Digital, especially high resolution digital, with super high magnification just a few clicks away, makes you appreciate that there really is only one plane absolutely in perfect focus, and the aperture just controls how quickly focus falls off. My own D800 was eye opening in this respect.

to make things a liitle more confusing people introduced the CoC (circle of confusion) to determine to what degree unsharpness is accepted as sharpness. This CoC depends on format, 135 has small one, 8x10 larger.
