  1. Yes have nikon 24 f2.8 and save for 17-35 its the best of the best. I use it in night 17mm with f2.8 or up and it is realy magic, this is why I never touched my 18-35 since I bought 17-35.

The idea of buying from tamron or else will guid you to check the lens well beafor buying it as you may have a bad copy ( I used to read about this problem ) I said ..may.. as some people had a good copis and other had bad copies, this is why I prefer to buy from nikon.

What ever you will decide I hope you good shooting

  2. Hi,

I have them both and my advice to you is to get F100 without a question, you will find a big diffrent than F80, F100 gives you the feel of Pro. camera and you will be very happy with it, I have used it in almost every hour in the day and night and its meter is exlent also is weight is normalnot like F5 where you may not accept its wight in you neck walking around for one day. Both F5 and F100 are a flagship camera and it is just my opinion that with F100 you will nerver need another camera.

What ever you choose,I hope you god shooting

  3. Hi,

People has divded 2 groups regarding this lens:

First group find it as a magic lens as well as shaprp at wide open from 28 to 105.

2nd group find it useless fir its flare wide open .

As every one infact has dreamed with htis lens dor its distance and F stop; my advise to you is to examine it before byuing and I holp you will have a very sharp copy.

What ever you choose I hope you good shooting

  4. Hi,

I have them both and they are great, infact F5 is a dream for every nikonian but I found it very heavy on my neck all the day so I prefer F100, So please try it your self in a dealer shop with your preferal lens or lenses if its weight is ok for you go a head with keh or B&H if it is not go direct for F100 and you will be very happy with the metering of F100 also(Poor man F5)

whatever you choose I hope you

    Good Shooting

  5. Hi,

You may consider Sigma 70-200 f/2.8 hsm which bought in mint condition for usd600.

It is similar to the non IS canon version.

I'm sugesting this because this is a very very good lens with very good reputation and you can have it now( for its f/2.8 instead of canon f/4L) till you get the IS version.

    Good shooting

  6. Hi Lindsay,

I'm also switched from Canon and I know what you feel exactly.

    Look I have N80, N90s, F100, F5 after that I bought F4s.

With This Camera You will find what you want and missed in Canon with all my respect to canon. Go and try it.

This Camera is a tank built in a shape of camera, I like it very much, it will meter with old MF lenses and the modern lenses but not with G type(P,S only). You can reduce its weight by removing its grip mb-21 and use mb-20 then it will turn to a normal camera without extra weight( litle heavy).

So it works as manual and auto focus camera but not fast like F100 or F5.

However there are a lot to know about this beast which are now in handy range.

F4 is the mother of all manual lenses cameras.

    Good Luck

  7. Hi'

For me I'm very very happy with my dear 70-180mm.

    Best regards

  8. Hi

    I suggest the following

1- Nikon 28-105mm macro zoom lens for land scape, macro and portrait

    = about $320

    ---OR--

2- nikon 24-120mm VR G all trael lens for landcape portrait and good zoom range but no macro = about $550

    ---OR---

3- Nikon 24-85mm and 70-300mm with you choice for g or non g version.= total about $480 for G version and about $850 for ed none g version

    ---OR--

    4- 18-35mm for land scape and 80-200mm f2.8 + nikon 60mm macro lens = about $1250

    -----OR---

5- the best are what we all dream about to have or already have :

    NIKON: 17-35mm f/2.8 , 28-70 f/2.8 , 70-200mm G VR, 70-180mm macro = total about $5500

Most of people prefer to have either 20mmFOR $425 or 24mm for $309 as fixed lenses for landscape addition to their gear.

I hope that the above answer question

    Best regards

    Mohamed
