Praus Productions in Rochester NY does very nice work and has made both B&W and 5x7 C-41 contact prints for me. Great people to deal with.

I have a Master Technika 4x5 which had the rangefinder removed by the original
owner. I am thinking of having it put back on and getting cams made for a few
lens (currently favoring 110/5.6 SSXL, 150/4.5 Apo Lanthar, and perhaps a
210/4.5 Heliar; I think they might provide a nice mix of a classic to a modern
look with reasonably fast lenses to help compensate for my own unsteady hands).
The cost is not insubstantial. Therefore, I am wondering if people with similar
setups (Technikas, Graphics, etc) do much hand held shooting and are they happy
with their results, or should I not go to the expense and stick to a tripod and
ground glass? Is it really possible to do candid type portraiture with such a
setup, or to be able to travel more lightly for outdoor scenics? Are there other
advantages to the availability of the rangefinder?
Any and all information/input/advice/scorn/whatever will be most appreciated
(and please forgive my posting essentially the same question in some of the
other photo forums in search of more opinions).
Thanks,
Larry

I too have become very interested in bellows with tilt/shift capability and both the Novoflex and the Horseman VCC look most interesting. Have you learned any more about any of these things over the intervening months? I would very much appreciate sharing in any wisdom you have accumulated. I can't tell from the Novoflex site: is it only possible to use the Schneider lenses, or can one use their own 35mm compatible lenses? Again, I would be very happy to hear of anything you have learned.

If you might be interested I just listed a Nikon 85mm f/1.4 AIS MF lens in the classified section of this site. It is a gorgeous portrait lens if you don't mind the manual focus.

I guess I'll have to find out!

Jonas provides a link to a single image in his posting.
The minimal depth of field is what gives the image a magical quality, with most of the subject matter defocused, and I think the Noctilux could give some beautiful images of this type.

Jonas Yip did pictorially exactly what I am trying to do. It sounds to me like the Visoflex adapter ought to do the trick, particularly if I use some extension rings on the F side of the adapter---or am I missing the boat somehow?

I would like to find a way to mount my Noctilux on my Nikon dSLR body
for large aperture macro photography (a fetish of mine). Is there
any way to do this? Extension rings would certainly be fine if any
of the appropriate mounts exist. Any ideas would be appreciated.

What is the best '24mm equivalent' lens for the 8x10" format?

Hello JD. I have both a Wollensak 159/9.5 (I understand it doesn't have quite the coverage of the f/12.5 version, though still reportedly can cover 8x10) and an Angulon 165/6.8 (recently CLA'd, definitely makes 8x10), both in working shutters and both available within your price range if you are interested. If so please contact me off forum and we can take this further as suits your desires.
