1. Both FISON and FIKUS work properly with the Summar. The only issue is that a slight part of the hood appears in the viewfinder.
2. I might now be on the track of it thanks to a Leica enthusiast. Many thanks for your comments.
3. According to Leica it would have stamped in red ink on the bottom of the Box a Letter K then the camera's number handwritten, then something like 'chrom' and possibly made in Germany
4. The camera was sold in the UK by Leitz and I would think there must be chance that the box would have stayed in the UK as I have the camera..
5. I have a chrome Leica III from 1936 and I am the second owner having bought it from the original purchaser together with four lenses and several accessories. All the lenses and other items still have their red boxes but i wondered if anyone knows where the red box for the camera might be - if it still exists at all. According to Leica AG I understand it would have the camera number written on the bottom of the box and showing the camera number which is 203267. It would be interesting to know it is still around.
6. I took my Contarex out to run a film through it to findhat the focusing ring on the 50mm Planar would not turn. It has been in a dry place for about three years. When I put it away, in its ever ready case, it was working perfectly. Could anyone kindly let me know if there is some way of freeing it off without an expensive repair ?
7. Yes, if you want to see what photography was like in the late twenties and early thirties. They are beautifully made cameras and the fixed Elmar is a first class lens. Such a simple and pocketable camera and almost silent. I very much enjoy mine.
8. People have been known to try and lubricate the sleeve with oil. This becomes viscous after time causing sticking. It can certainly be rectified and worth doing if the glass is in very good condition.
9. If cosmetics are not a problem, then a piece of black tape over the window is a good solution.i have an R4 since the 1980s and never had a problem.
10.
I also have a Contarex Bullseye with the standard 50mm Planar. It certainly was a triumph of engineering. You can hear everything working using the slow speeds. Very heavy it is but easy to use. I also have the case which itself is no lightweight. It is such a lump to lug around though very satisfying.

11. I have a 1936 135mm F4.5 Hektor which I uesed qite alot with acceptable results.

12. After over 30 years with Leicas two 50mm lenses stand for me - the 50mm Summicron and the 50mm Summar, on the strict assumption that the Summar has never been polished.
13. Please could anyone kindly tell me if this memory card is Ok for my Leica C112 ? PNY High Performance Class 10 microSD Memory Card - 32 GB
