Help with first MF Camera in Medium Format Posted April 26, 2004 The biggest bang for the buck in used medium format right now is Pentax 645. They are in the $500. range with lens and film insert. Lots of good sharp lenses available at low prices as well. Great metering, and built in motor, uses readily available AA batteries, and is so very low in vibration that you will not need to use a tripod nearly as much as with other MF cameras. Their 150 is a very nice "people lens" as is the normal 75, and should serve your purpose well. Also dont get caught up in the "Hasselblad Mystique". They are nice cameras but their used values are still falling and have not yet bottomed out.
