  1. I'd recommend staying in Oceanside or places south if you plan on an early drive to SD. Great place to visit would be the Cabrillo National Monument in Pt. Loma. It won't take a lot of time, great views of SD harbor, kids will enjoy the small museum and lighthouse. Don't miss the tide pools, turn off is just before the park. The drive to the NM is through the national cementary and is awe inspiring and humbling. Do this first thing in the morning, then the SD Zoo and Balboa Park or Sea World, probably not time for all 3 in a day. Then back to the North County for a night and visit the WPA the next day. Just did this excursion in April and was well pleased with the result. End of June is peak tourist season--expect lots of people almost everywhere.

If you are driving back to Sherman Oaks area from San Diego I'd suggest the inland route (I-5 to S-134 to 101 FWY) to avoid the congestion around LAX. It's a bit longer, but usually quicker.

Good luck and enjoy Southern California.

  2. Thank you all for your responses. Since we will starting in Southeast Georgia, getting to N. Carolina may be a problem, we'll see. As I mentioned, we're from So. Calif so areas in the Southwest are familiar and reachable by our light aircraft. I am more interested in any "don't miss" sights in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas along I 40, as we don't get many opportunities to visit that part of the country. Again, thanks for your help. Karen
  3. We'll be driving from the east coast of Georgia to Southern

California next week--repositioning our new vehicle. Route is mostly

I-40 through Nashville, Oklahoma City, Albuquerque, etc. I'm mainly

interested in landscapes and nature with an emphasis on waterfalls.

I'm familiar with California & Arizona, but need some help on

anything east of Albuquerque that would make for pleasant pictures

and is not too far off the interstate--don't want to try hubby's

patience too much. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

  4. Just purchased a Sony SDM H95P LCD monitor. Awsome display, by the

way, but I have a question about connecting two computers. The

display has inputs for both analog and digital with a manual switch

to change from one mode to another. Has anyone had any experience

connecting two computers to this type of monitor, one with the analog

input and one with the digital? I am currently using an A-B box to

switch, but this sometimes produces a red cast on the monitor. I

have tried two different A-B boxes with the same result. I'd

    appreciate your input. Thanks, Karen

  5. All good suggestions, but none of them seem to work. The problem is that the header is totally tucked under the main menu (removing options simply slides it up farther) and I can not grab the header to move it. It seems to be stuck in the upper left corner. I cannot even see the little black triangle to click on that. I can resize it by moving the lower right corner only. Most unusual.

I appreciate all of your responses and hopefully someone will have another suggestion. Would hate to have to re-load the program.

    Thanks again, Karen<div>00BUta-22347384.thumb.jpg.f3c1993ed01fa71bd75f8a8705147ca9.jpg</div>

  6. I know that this sounds like a very dumb question, but having just

discovered the benefits of file browser, I'd like to use it. The

brower window has gotten "stuck" under the main window. I cannot see

the header in order to drag it around (like to another monitor) or to

minimize it. All other windows or pallets work OK. I tried reset

pallets, didn't work. Tried removing Options menu bar, file browser

just tucks under main menu bar. Tried restarting numerous times. Any

    ideas?

  7. Going to be in the Florida Keys for one day only in early December.

Any "don't miss" sights for landscape/nature photos? We'll probably

concentrate on the upper keys and most likely won't make it all the

way to Key West. I appreciate your help--info in the forum on this

subject appears to be a little dated. Thanks, Karen

  8. Sorry, should have mentioned arriving by private aircraft and renting a car. Should have 2-3 days for day trips. Looking for landscape and nature photos. May fly over to Bend/Sunriver area one day. Thanks for all of your suggestions!
