  1. You are absolutely correct.. I'm not a big tiffosi, but loved the lines of this car. The sound was unbelievably hair raising. When we did some rolling shots I was sitting passenger in my friends S2000 and just the exhaust note of this magnificent car at idle had our car rumbling. And if you know the S2000, it?s no slouch in the suspension department!

I haven't been on photo.net in a million years and just decided to see what was going on. I didn't notice your comment from January until just now. Yes, it's Norman Perkel from Nova... Good memory! :)

    How's everything? With you?

It's been a while since I have been here, but it's good to see how much you have posted and how good the photos are. I particularly like this one... Not only for your choice of composition (love the off center tree), but also because of how you used the available light to create a mood. Very well done!

Another great shot! I really like the lighting, your choice of composition, as well as choice of model. Her look tells of the roaring 20's and then the tattoos pull in the other direction. I really like it. Well done!
  2. Thanks for your comments. With regards to the watermark, I have had too many images lifted from here so, now I have to watermark everything. Sad, but necessary unless you want your pictures being used without permission.
  3. Please don't get me wrong. I really do appreciate your comments and constructive criticism as they help me hone my skills, so I DO appreciate your input. However with my images being lifted and used on sites I have no choice but to either kill the quality of the images or watermark them.
  4. Hi Karen,

I was focusing on the helmet. With differnt cars of varying length I never try and focus on the nose because then the helmet comes across as soft. But then again, this might be something for me to try with a smaller aperture. Thanks for the comments and suggestions.

  5. Hi Karen,

First le tme say I appreciate your comments... They only make me want to improve what I do so, thankl you. As for the highlights, when I edited the image in RAW the numbers looked good at around 245-250 for the whites so I didn't back off. However, when the time comes to print, I might push it a bit because I prefer a pure white in the reflections and black somewhere in the shadows. It's a personal preference and some people don't like it, but it's how I like to see the final image. On the net however, it would look washed out and a bit strong on the contrast.

As for the watermark, I started watermarking my images as stated because I found some of my pictures being lifted from here, cropped, and re-posted on F1 sites that make money from advertising (www.f1i.com was one of them). So from now on, I need to protect my images even if some find it distracting. I hope you understand.

  6. I was actually waiting for him to pull over and ask me to park it for him this way the FIA stewards would leave him alone. :) Thank you for your kind words, I really appreciate it. I still have so many images to sort through and edit. I posted this one as is (no cropping) because it stood out. Next time I will try and pull back with a 1.4 converter and take your advice of including more of the background.
  7. Very nice photo.. The only thing I would suggest (because the image is really nice as is) would be to experiment with different angles and compositions. I do this by changing my focus point and envisioning where I want to capture the car, I compose the background (if the DOF is deep enough)and wait for him the enter the zone in which I want to capture him.

Nice shot though.. I like it.
