Hi Everyone
This was taken for a street lighting manufacturer who lit all main
roads in this scene.
12 shots stitched together in PS3 taken with Canon 5D and 200mm 2.8
L lens.
Thankyou for looking.

Hi
Very good abstract picture in my opinion.
I love the colour and diagonal lines and the soft highlight on the pipework glows beautifully.
Well done mate!.

Hi Everyone
This bridge in Wales features blue handrail lighting. I used a 1 1/2
minute exposure to give some abstract feel to the picture.
Canon EOS 5D with 24-105mm F4 L lens.
Thanks for looking in.

Thankyou all for your kind comments.
Juan I use DXO to process my raw images and this program corrects the distortion in the lens very well indeed. It also has a useful feature that enables some highlight detail to be retrieved from images that have very bright areas. I like to really push my exposures as much as possible with digital capture then pull back some highlight detail in the raw files.

Hi Hugh
I was'nt sure at first why this photo had gained all the high ratings. Then I found myself looking at it more and more - then I read the text you had written about the picture (arse about face I know but thats me).
Now I've looked at it at a larger size and it is a really superb photo and the story it tells is sad but becoming more and more commonplace.
I've also now looked through your other work in the London Lives gallery on PDN and I think you take very interesting and challenging photo's and I have to say I'm well impressed.
I earn a good living taking commercial photo's for catalogues etc etc and I love my job but you take the kind of pictures that I wish I could as they really mean something and capture true emotion and gritty reallity.
Sorry to waffle on but it's not every day that I see pictures that stand out from the crowd.

New building with modern lighting and white light to contrast with
the trditional building with warm lighting in the background. Taken
at dusk with no Photoshop work.

Well done mate - a great start!.
The picture stands out very well because the dusk sky looks lovely and the white stone leaps out of the picture. Also the dark areas inside the monument add to the drama.
If you could re-take this shot using a tripod to eliminate the soft focus due to camera shake and also use a spirit level on your hotshoe to level the picture off you would have a real winner here.

I like this picture very much!.
The lady is very pretty and I love the thoughtful look on her face. I also like the lady on the right as she brings balance to the photograph and adds very much to the thoughtful mood of the picture.
Thankyou for posting this - well done mate!.

Hi
I took this for an office lighting catalogue.
I know it's not exciting but any feedback would be good.

Taken for the website of a 1960's style bowling alley in London.
The waitress was a really great model to work with.

I look at the gallery on the front page of PDN most days and I have never commented before because in my opinion 90% of the images are photoshopped to the hilt and look more like renderings than pictures and people still rate them as 7/7.
This for me is a true photograph and well deserves 7/7 - well done mate and thanks for putting forward a proper photo!.

Forgive me if I'm wrong but this doesn't look real. For one the rotten branch doesn't look strong enough to support a fox and two where are his back legs?.Also the bokeh looks very strange.
Good image for sure but I'm not convinced it's one photo.

Hi Everyone
I took some portraits of 20+ employees in one day and tried to show
them with a prop relating to their work as well as a portrait with
no prop. The client liked the pics but I would welcome some
feedback - I like this moody lighting and dark background but is it
too out of date?.

Road Interchange 2 Bristol

Hi Michael
Thankyou for your kind comments - much appreciated.
I took this shot from the Clifton Suspension Bridge as it gave a good view of the motorway. I did get some shots actually next to the road running past the central building in the picture and from a top floor window in that same building but none of them were as interesting as the panoramic.
I always shoot in RAW mode and in manual and basically used the histogram to decide on the best exposure then panned around the scene taking 12 shots with the camera in portrait position at the same exposure and with auto white balance. I then colour corrected the final panoramic in one go in PS3. The colour could be cooler and show slightly more nuetral colours but then the warmth is lost from the picture.
I think the exposure was about 6 seconds at ISO 100 but I will check the RAW file and let you know if it was vastly different. The aperture was around F16.
Sorry to be a bit vague but I did shoot this about 5 months ago.
