Thanks to everyone for your comments - it's great that you took time out to look and make your remarks!.

The colour is the coldtone profile in Lightroom with the exposure pushed up a little and the contrast boosted a bit.

    Best regards

    Hi Everyone

Taken on a disused railway line near Milton Keynes (UK) with an

    EOS5D mk2 with 24-105mm F4L lens and Bowens 500W/s head with

small softbox running off a Bowens Travelpak.

  1. Hi Leora

Many thanks for your kind words.

The reception area changes colour and it's all lit with LED's so during the shoot I had to capture all the variations.

I've started shooting video clips alongside the stills now thanks to the excellent video capability of the EOS 5D MK2.

    Best regards

    David

This stood out for me from all the other pictures on the critique list.

It's a lovely picture - I love the perspective, tones and pose.

  2. I like the symmetry very much - this shot just "feels right".

The exposure is spot on for me too - I like it!.

Well done mate - keep up the good work.

  3. Hi

It's a nice portrait and in my opinion a good picture. For me a tighter crop would work better for what it's worth.

I'm of the opinion that as long as you like the picture and the sitter likes the picture then nothing else matters!.

To get noticed here on Photo.Net you have to be one of the regular contributors - there does seem to be a bit of a clique although I've been a member for years and it doesn't bother me at all. I do get annoyed though at the amount of highly retouched and in some cases 99.9% photoshop generated work that gets showcased. And there's the problem - good quality real photo's just don't get noticed much any more!.

Wow I feel better for letting all that angst out.

Good portrait anyway - well done.

  4. Great photograph Jean-Paul!.

It caught my eye immediately from the Photo.net homepage.

Lovely composition and lighting - beautiful tonality and detail in the ladies hair.

    For me it's 7/7

    Best regards
