Maybe I didn't get the question, but to me it just sounds like Sam is asking if we "colour correct" shots in our head while we watch porn, not complaining about the low quality.
I personally find myself correcting shots all over the place. This may be because I'm a printer in a photo lab, but my answer to this question is simply...yes.

I agree with Steve and Bruce. Find out what your lab uses and base your final decision on that. Fuji actually makes the Frontier machines and their film does generally look better when printed on the Frontier. Fuji film has a more blue/green tinge while Kodak has a more red/yellow tinge...if that helps any. Good Luck!

Not sure if you've left already... If you can drive near Tai Po (spelling??), near the border I believe, there are some beautiful natural spots. As far as "old city" style you could always cross to Macau (not HK, but the architecture is gorgeous). This shot is from Macau..

I'd recommend any part of East Asia to anyone. If you are only going for a short while why not try the Philippines? or Malaysia? Or just pick a specific part of Asia (there's so many to choose from). The culture is so varied and rich and the land itself is beautiful, but communication can be difficult!

Thanks for your input guys! This website has been a huge help for me.
I've been doing some research and I've talked to my manager. He suggests the AF-S VR 24-120/3.5-5.6G IF-ED or the AF-S 24-85/3.5-4.5G IF-ED, they are a little pricey, but I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on whether or not they would be a good investment! Thanks again for the help guys!

Photography has been my hobbie for a few years now and only recently
have I become serious about it. I bought a D70 a few months ago in
the hopes that it would help me learn through trial and error (which
so far has worked). After spending my dough on my new camera I was
forced to use my old Nikon lens. About a month ago my lens broke so
now I'm left with a beautiful new camera but no lens.
I'm on a budget (a student budget) and I am trying to decide if it
is a better investment for me to buy a mid-ranged lens or buy both a
wide and telephoto. The good news is is that I currently work at
Black's Photography and can buy straight from Nikon. In other
words,I'm trying to find a suitable lens/lenses for my needs. Do you
think that a university student would need both types within a few
years? And finally, is there much difference between the DX lenses
and the ones that are interchangeable between film and digital?
Please let me know if you have any advice!
