Hi Hugh,do you have a version of this shot that is NOT slented? I would be curious to see it. great shot.

I love digital too! I got a D200 in May and use it all the time. Now I have to figure out how to do IR with it. Thanks for responding to my comment.

Hi Sondra, this is a beautiful picture. I'm not familiar with digital IR but I have experimented a lot with film IR. One of the challenge I find, is to get the right exposure that will give the perfect grain (not too much , but some). Have you ever experimented with adding some grain in some of your IR picture (not necessarily this one)? Take care, MC.

Now you know I'm a real fan of yours; when I read in your bio that you were challenging us PN members to find the digital photo in your portfolio, I right away thought of the cactus flowers. I didn't know about the car fire though.Cheers.

Hi Tim. I've tried a polarizing filter (B&W circular) with my D200. Is there a special setting I should use on the camera when I use such a filter? The pictures turned out to be very flat and with a grayish cast. I'm used to using polarizing filters with film cameras, and I don't get the same results with my D200. Any Hints? Thanks.

Hi Micheal,
I started a series of photos on Andre a while ago, thinking he was a good subject for a reportage. He suffers from muscular dystrophia, and he is a very dedicated painter. I met him in a collective exhibit in which I was participating myself. Every once in a while we meet, and I take photos of his work, so he has slides for his portfolio. I have good shots of him in his studio, and in his home. When I was a salesperson in a photography store, he used to ride many miles in his electric chair, just to say hi to me at work.
You're right, he would be an interesting subject for a photo-reportage. I freelance now with a local newspaper as a journalist and photographer, but it wouldn't be the right venue for this particular reportage. I have to say that my work puts me in contact with inspiring people very often, and that's why I think it's so great to work as a photojournalist. Thanks for your comment Micheal.

Manifestation in Montreal last february.

This is a very touching image. The strike of genius here was to detect a moment of profound humanity in such an environment, and then capture it on film so well. How you managed the light also impresses me.

The use of IR works very well here, it's like the decor of a fairy tale. Plus, the composition is impeccable, as usual. What ISO did you use on your camera or light meter? I wish the sky was a bit less grainy. Do you think it's a little bit over exposed? I enjoy your new pictures from England a lot. mc

The cross on Mount-Royal is one of Montreal's famous landmarks and
has been photographed an infinite number of times. I tried to give it
an original twist by using a fisheye lens.

What do you think? Thanks for stopping by.

This collage is well executed and interesting. My eye keeps going up and down and make different associations between the pictures. Good use of color. Somehow, despite the sterile environment, emotions are coming across. good work JP.
