You need to be using a lens with a larger apature f2.8 or less for wide angle lenses and usually with a lens with a narrow view like a 100mm-500mm f8 or less. This will give you background the defocusing of the back ground your looking for. Wide angle lenses usually have a very long depth of feild ( focus from 4ft to infn.).

I just went back through my last 10yrs of photography and I would have to say for landscapes my 28-105 sigma (old, film ), and my 16-80 Carl Zeiss (DT,ZA)

The cable remote for Maxxum/SonyA mount is a electronic cable release' not plunger style of the old days so there is no vibration there. I use the electronic cable realease in conjunction with the 2 sec delay (pre shutter cock).

@BeBu L, OLED does dim and brighten when + or - and the res is high enough too zoom in on. Maybe not on the old a55,33,37 but on the a65 and a77 it is, and it has a mode that live previews in real time as you are composing, not just live view but previews your live view your settings, WB,B&W and + -, you should try it you might like it oh and 12 FPS is a amazing RUSH too :-)

I went and looked at one the other day and the image circle on the lens seems large enough for FF sensor when I compared it to the regular DT lenses made by Sony and Sigma. I also read reports of it not being as sharp or have as much contrast as the Zeiss 16-80 DT. I own the Zeiss lens and it takes amazingly sharp picture with great color.

Yes I did, but your link ? If you can't sweep the camera from L to R which will give you at least 12 images the camera won't let you just keep the camera in one area. I even have tried to sweep it slow and it won't let you do that eather. Sorry Rob :)

No way to, but a good setting for the best subb I found is in the camera "Picture effect" menu called "HDR Painting" and set it to the "High" option. It works really well.

I don't think thats what he ment ? I think it was more of like a singel frame vs panoramic, but you have to have some type of shift in the photo (2 images ) to make it look 3D.

I have all the 7's (7d,a700 & a77 ), and with the a77'S 24mpx on a crop sensor or C format size sensor you get great res. at low ISO's and is FF really needed ? These days I don't really think so. And with that I would see no reason to switch. I have the lenses to fit the format and it works well. I've seen side by side shots taken with a A900, A850 & A77 and I'd have to say you can not tell them apart, no kidding. The only place I'd say you may see a differance is @ high ISO if you pix peep at 150% or higher. Don't waste your time or money waiting around the prices are just getting hire and you prob. don't really need it. I don't see any way to justify your waiting. It's not really a crop sensor it's just another format. (Med format, F.F. APS-C, canon 1.6, 3/4's,and so on ).

5400hs with 800si works at all shutter speeds 1/60th-1/8000th the only prob with the 9xi or 800si is that you can't use a ssm lens and you can on a maxxum 7(5400hs flash will oiny work to 1/160th on maxxum 7 ).

I just found out my Sigma 120-400hsm can't resolve a 24mpx sensor that well, my 70-300G ssm is twice as sharp. "G". "CZ", or good old Minolta stock from here on out for my a77. Don't go too cheap on your lenses Erick you might spen more in the end.

Trying to find a good compatable bulk feed ink setup that matches epson ink quality & color.

-

Thats how my 800si work also, just as it should. The only thing that moves is the apature of the lens.

Spot meter, and expose for highlights. Just this week I was in this situation and got great results using A priority and spot and under expose by 1-2 stops with a 50mm1.7. I shot wide open at f1.7 iso250.

18-70 and a CPL (70-300G ssm, if you can sneak it in there. Compact and great IQ)

They are the only AF mount that they work with full auto focus on. CZ makes a full line of T* coated "A" mount lenses.

They say the OLED finder on the A77 is so much better than the EVF on the A55 & 33,35 that it is almost as good as the OVF of the A900 and the refresh rate is so quick that it almost fools the eye in thinking and looking that it is a real OVF. Can't wait too see it for myself : ) I think I'll have to do the same Paul.

Heh Paul De Ley, the new shape reminds me of the old Minolta Maxxum 7xi & 9xi. I think Im sold on this on just watched a previewon it on the sony FB site and down loaded some Original Files of sample pics at Dpreview. They are AMAZING, with just a little sharpening and very little adjments. Because we all know we can do better than the samples they take when we get are hands on it.
