Thanks - Pikto looks pretty good. Their walkthrough / tour leaves a few questions unanswered, but I've sent them off an e-mail & should hear back soon.

Hey, I just posted a question topic above, but this seems like a relevant discussion - does anyone know of a reliable company that does this in Canadian dollars?

I'm just setting up my wedding photography website, and am hoping to find an
on-line service to host my photo galleries, with password protection, on-line
print orders & delivery of final images. There are lots of great sites out
there (shutterfly, smugmug, etc...), but as far as I can tell, they'll all only
take orders in American dollars. As I'm based in Vancouver, it would be far
more convenient for my pricing and (I'm sure) lead to fewer questions from my
clients if I could find a site which would at least list my prices in Canadian
dollars - does anyone know of one?
Thanks for yr help.

Hey - a few years later, I'm another new Yashica owner, and it appears that this site is no longer avaliable at geocities, either... Does anyone know if it's only moved again, or if it's off the web.
If you could help with out with the URL for a Yashica 124G manual, I'd appreciate it.

I've used both lenses, and I would go with the 70-200 and a 1.4x converter if you're not going to use the extreme telephoto often, and otherwise opt for the 100-400. They're both beautiful lenses, but heavyheavy... better get to the gym in either case :-)

Writing to the comittee and telling them your views is a good way to let them know what you think. As a Canadian currently living in Japan, I won't be writing in myself, but for those who do, I'd reccomend that you also send a carbon copy of your letter/e-mail to any local press - magazines, newspapers, tv stations, etc... in the area. In my experience, this has worked very well - I've been quoted & occasionally called for interviews, and in some cases told that my letter sparked interest in the newspaper doing a story at all. This is a great way to get the word out & promote public debate.
If anyone living in new york has a list of editorial e-mails for NY media, maybe you could post it on this list.
keep up the good fight :-)

I am definetly a fan of the colour version here. B&W can sometimes help viewers to focus on the subject of an image, but the colour range here is very unified and mutued, with nothing too glaring or distracting. Instead, I feel that there is a warmth here that is missing in the b&w version.

Scott, I went and had a look at the Miskang site - it definetly looks like an intriguing blend of photography and meditation. Instead of snapping endless photos in search of the one that meant something to you, I am sure with this technique each photo would speak volumes - if only to you...
If you do decide to take part, I hope you share your experiences with us.<div></div>

Epson Matte and/or Photo Black on Epson Matte Papers
in The Digital Darkroom: Process, Technique & Printing
Posted
Using the matte black ink will definetly help when printing on the Epson Enhanced Matte, Watercolour, Smooth Fine Art, and even Canvas (matte and glossy canvas seems to benefit from the matte black ink). I only use the photo black ink for lustre and gloss.
That said, everytime you want to change the black ink on one of these printers, it will flush all of the ink which in currently in your lines into the waste ink bottle. On the larger printers (Epson 9800), this can be about $100 of ink to change over twice! So, try to print things in batches. A whole bunch of gloss at one time, a whole bunch of matte at another. Change ink as seldom as possible, or go broke printing your own photos :)
