Beautiful light!

Great portrait, very nice framing. Personally I am ot a fun of so much sharpening but I certainly like the way this was composed
-
Very interesting image. Pity for the AF.

Thanks!

It is amazing that this photo was taken on 19/4/1999. The Profitis Ilias peak is covered with snow as it should normally be at that time of the year. But then, check out this photo of the peak shotlast week during my ascent on the mountain:

It certainly has been the warmest winter I can recall!!!

A newly discovered, beautiful crag on the most unexpected location! A
hidden ravine near Aspropirgos industrial area, Athens

Normal blooming time is spring but the high temperatures caused some
to bloom in the middle of the winter

This was taken on the 21st of January in the foothills of Mt Parnitha.
The turtles are normally hibernating at this time but due to the
unusual high temperatures they are becoming active again. So far it
has been the warmer winter I can remember

That's really really good. Who cares if its not technically perfect. This is a great idea, full of emotion. I think the photograph would not be as good without the "unsuspected" old man in the foreground-so good timing there. Great effort. Hope to see more.

Hi Edward.
He is topropping. That means he is climbing with a rope from above which I cloned out as it interfered badly with the action. I intentionally left the loop in the harness of the climber as this is how the photo would look if he would be leading the route (climbing with the rope from below which would not be visible). This is also why I left the belayer (he can barely be seen siting on a yellow mat on the bottom of the climb. Other than that the climber is free climbing the route (which means climbing without assistance of gear/rope - the rope is there only to avert injury in case of a fall). This is a tricky balance route which provides perfect shooting opportiunites exactly because it looks so hard. I was shooting tied on the belay anchors after having climbed the route myself. The sandal looking shoes are climbing-specific shoes that provide better friction and allows stepping on very small ledges.
So to answer your question the climber is going up the wall the way it looks, using only skill and power.
Thanks for your questions and your interest!

Giorgos on the desperate crux moves of the Hemeea (Chemistry) slab.
Thanks for looking!

Hey Tristan, thanks! I know about the cables... It would be a much shot better without them.

Interesting shot. I like the blur effect both in the background with all its parallel arcs and the 8-legged cat. I am slightly put of by the square frame. It seems to me that the cat needs more space in front of her to run.

Shot in natural light. I cropped the right part and extened the
left. Can someone advice how can I enhance the textrue of the peel
on PS? Thanks!

I think thats the one...

I like the way the diagonal grey lines on the lower right invade the symmetry of the composition. Maybe its only a detail but it makes the photo stand out in terms of composition

Its a good result but would it be the same without the caption? Just a thought...

better view live
(sorry couldn't resisti imature commment-its a nice photo:)
