I am wondering if I should replace my heavy duty Photogenic light

stand for one with casters for better stability and maneuverability.

Wondering what everyone else uses.

I have the 17-40 and the 70-200 already along with the 50 1.4 and 85 1.8. I feel this will complete my lens selection until I need to go longer.

I am considering getting this lens for family portraits and

weddings. I have been using primes but this seems to be a better

choice for fast changing siturations. For those who use them, is the

image quality as good or close too what I am getting from the primes?

 

My bodies are 10D and 20D.

Thanks for the ideas, I will use some of them and see if I still feel the need for an adjustable table.

What kind of posing table do you folks use. I want a good sturdy

table but I obviously dont want to spend more than I need to. I see

the price range is quite big, hoping to get some ideas from you.

What size image do you use for webpages, I am in an area where alot

of people still use dial up?

A friend of mine wants a telephoto lens for his Nikon N4004S. He

curently has a 35-70mm on it. I have no idea what lenses will work

for this camera or what mount. Any info will be greatly appreciated.

I had both and sold the 70-200 f/4.0 L because I wanted more zoom. I was planning on buying a 75-300. Well after lots of help on here, I sucked it up and purchased another 70-200 f/4 L. Both lenses are as good as it gets for the $$ and if you want a better lens will have to spend a lot to get it.

I have used the 70-200mm 4.0 L for portraits with good results, Do remember you get better background blur at the 200mm end so will need some good light to keep a high shutter speed.

I need a new bracket for my 10D and Quantam Q T4D. I curently use the

Strobofram Pro T and not real happy with it. I believe I want a

bracket that I hold the bracket rather than the camera?

I changed card readers and it worked fine? very surprised it read some of the files and not others and in no specific order. I am relieved it was a 512mb card and hate to have to trash one.

I did a family shoot today and some of the Raw images on my card

will not open, they have the same file names as the others ie.

CRW_8809.CRW but when you click on them to open using PS CS get the

error message "Could not complete your request because it is not the

right kind of document."

 

Anyone know how I can get these files open. they were the middle

files, the begining files are fine, and end files also. No change in

lens, or settings. Thanks in advance for the help.

I did find the right adapter on there page but now another question acording to there page here http://www.qtm.com/flash/qft4d.php it says this (QF13N) will work with the 7E and this doesnt because i tried it. Now I am confused, I will have to spend the $109.00 to see if the Qflash is working right. Thanks for the tips for now and will either use it in Manual mode for this weekend or try auto, not real farmilure with auto mode.

I bought the Quantum Qflash T4D and the QF13N TTL adapter for my

canon 10D but cant get the TTL to work, I have tried in AV mode and

Program mode and the flash fires but shutter speed is extremely slow

and obviously blured picture. I can not get the Camera to realize

the flash is on. Does anyone have any sugestions to try.

I am going to photograph my first mall fashion show, and sure would

like some tips from those of you that do this often.

 

My equipment, a Canon 10D, 50 1.4 / 85 1.8 / 17-40 f 4.0L and

possibly a 70-200 4.0 L plenty of CF cards and a quantum T4D and both

a ETTL cord and flash bracket or PW's

 

Would you recomend keeping the flash on the camera with flash bracket

using ETTL, or setting it up on a stand and firing with PW's

 

What lenses would you recomend? I am going to be out of my little

studio enviorment and hoping to get some tips.

I was just wanting more reach, I have already decided its another 70-200. The person I sold it to has some focusing problems with her 10D so I may get a chance to refund her money, if not will have to kick in an additional $45.00 plus a filter and order a new one. I should have done my homework before selling it.

Thanks and guess I should have thought more about it before selling my 70-200, although I got a very good amount for it since it was only a few months old, I can purchase another one with out a lot of loss, I had my doubts with the f/4 and the 1.4 making it very slow for low light wildlife. I was not real impressed in the 400 ISO pictures I was getting. I had no idea there would be that much picture quality loss in the $400.00 lenses.

Even the 75-300 IS lens, is this also a poor choice?

Looking for a zoom lens to replace my 70-200 4.0 L, The 200 was

leaving me too short too often so sold it. I am NOT going to invest

into a L lens at this time but need to replace this lens for now.

($400.00 or LESS) I will be using the lens for sports and wildlife

and will want decent size enlargements up to 8X10 shooting RAW

 

Any sugestions / experiences will be greatly appreciated.

Does anyone make there own business cards and if you do any tips.

I am not trying to be cheap but with a photoprinter (epson) and

Photoshop thinking it can be done at home if you use the corect paper

and paper cutter. I need some by Sept. 18th so if I need to order

them better get going.

I saw a 80 gig external hard drive at Kmart and am wondering if this

wouldnt be a good purchase and save from burning so many DVD / CD's

 

has anyone used a device like this or thinkiing about it.

Could these be mis prints or are these actually differant flashes

with the same model numbers?

Has anyone made there own posing table? I saw a post somewhere that

talked about making a posing table out of a Tripod. The reason I ask

is I have an old Tripod I dont use and also wood working tools so

thinking about trying it. If anyone has made one, or knows where the

post was I would appreciate any info.
