  1. A great example of how shooting at the "magic hour" can make an otherwise ordinary image look great!

If this picture was taken at noon, it wouldn't be nearly as good.

I do like the contrast between the relaxing parts of the scene such as the grass, water and bridge vs. the industrial factory in the background.

Cropping is great, don't change a thing.

I would like more detail in the bird, rather than a silhouette. Also, the lens flare on the right is a bit distracting.

I cant decide if the birds in the background add to the photo, or distract from it. I do like that they are out of focus though.

  2. Very good idea. I would have got quite a bit closer though, in order to bring out more of the reflections and make the image a bit more abstract. I think this would prevent it from being "just" a picture of a Christmas decoration.

In other words, being closer would not only bring out more of the reflections, it would make people look at the picture closer/harder instead of immediately realizing that it is a picture of a decoration on a Xmas tree.

    Reflections

I was waiting for someone to mention the missing feet!

I really liked this shot, and my only regret was that I got a little too close and cut off the feet.

  3. I love it. But then again, this fits my style of photography very well (this is a shot I can see myself taking)!

I love the depth to the image, near and far, including the sky and clouds. It's a soothing picture.

If you could have been a little higher, you would have a little more reflection in the pond.
