    Dear Greg,

Your constructive critique is certainly appreciated. You drew my attention to some elements of the image I hadn't thought of as significant, and yet it turns out they can be distracting! It happens all too often that the author of a photo doesn't (or is unable to) play the role of an unbiased assessor of his/her own work. The image above is clearly the case of such visual impression omissions committed by the author before publishing the photo ;)

    Thanks again and regards

Ditto what previous critique Authors wrote... I love such b&w rendering of the world. A true masterpiece in monochrome. I've always had problems converting my digital images to b&w, that's why I shoot on film whenever I want good black and white picture.

    Congrats and regards,

    Tomasz

The sky was just crazy!...  ;) But what the nature offers is one thing, and what the photographer can do with it to create a fabulous image is another.  The photo above is a proof.

    Congrats and regards,

In my very humble opinion, the subject would gain the expression you're after when lit by direct sunlight revealing its texture and all the 3D-like features. Any chance you can return to that location at a different time of the day? Sure enough, a more suitable film and development can help increase the overall contrast of the scene, but the statue sunlit would be a delight to view.

    Just my 2c...

    Hello,

Being a great analog photography fan myself, I really like what you're doing... For me it's like reviving old sentiments. Many years ago I had a FED, too, besides, a couple of Zeniths, a Zorki, a 35 mm and 5 1/4 sq. Kiev, and so on... ;)

The middle gray tones are particularly nicely reproduced in this photo.

    Regards,

    Tomasz
