My oldest daughter plays HS and club soccer on a U18 team. These games are all played on football size or larger fields. I mount the 70-200 f2.8 and a 1.4X TC on a 1DM2 and find that if I set up on the 18 yard box from the touch line that I can cover most of the field. You will have a bit more reach with the crop factor of the 10D. I just make sure I position myself so that the sun lights their faces. If I am shooting a night game under the lights I need to set ISO as high as 1600.

The 1DM2 is a great camera body without question. You have ,no doubt, spent much time and money building your prime set. Why sell/trade at a loss only to find that you really would like those same lenses to go with your 1DM2. Keep your lenses, save your money and you will soon own a great set of primes and body that you can grow old with.

Interesting that you mention firmware...I just upgraded to to the most recent firmware. Prior to the upgrade I refreshed the battery.

Pulled the battery and now it works. Chalk it up to electronics?

I have my 1DM2 set for 11 AF points. I am able to select the middle

horizontal points using the main dial but cannot select any points

vertically using the Quick Control Dial. It just changes between the

last selected point and AFPS. In 45 and 9 AF points all controls work

normally. I have searched the forums and read the manual. What am I

missing?
