  1. "I would like to take photographs there, with the intention that the images may be posted on

    my website later for licensing."

Depends what you mean by licensing. As Barry sez - if you want to unload 'em to stock

agencies you'll need an official release from the agency (ies) you plan to unload to and not

your own one. If to be sold direct to a client for commercial use, you're own release (if

    written properly) will be fine.

  2. well i lost a roll of film at knife point. gone for good. but when someone else insisted i

delete pix on my card, i just pulled 'em back with recovery software. film is risky - i've lost

loads of shots for a myriad of reasons.

  3. barry,

i'm using flash at night a lot these days. tried it on the subway too. best to use it at dusk

like in brads example. i wouldn't worry about pissing ppl off. again, like in brads example,

he's far enough away that the ppl in shot have no idea what he's taking pix of. if you get

right in someones face and pop a flash, it's a bit rude, otherwise ppl just tend to ignore you..

at least that's what i found.

  4. Upgraded to OS 10.4 yesterday and PSCS is dead. Starts up. just doesn't open any files.

Same message everytime; "Could not complete your request because of a program error"

Right, very informative. So I tired Image Ready which opens files fine in Tiger. Re-

installed several times, trashed preferences files, repaired permissions, done all the tricks I

can think of. So, then downoaded the 30 day trial version of Photoshop CS2 from Adobe

and installed that on Tiger - got the excat same message when double clicking an image

or trying to open from the menu bar.

I was running 10.3.9 on a PowerMac G4, quicksliver 867mhz (firmware all up to date).

Also I installed PSCS of my old system (external harddrive) and it's working fine there. And

PSCS 2 works fine on my ibook (10.3.9). I've read some people are having the exact same

problem out there. Does anyone have a fix?

    Cheers, steve.

  5. john, what the others said. the nike slogan is for street photographers.

if you tip-toe around and be sneaky, people will sense it, become more suspicious and

then you're more likely to get your ass kicked. i know, sneaking around got my ass kicked

twice. one thing that worked for me at the beginning was convining myself that i wasn't

actually taking a picture of the subjects themselves. using a wide lens i told myself that i

was taking the whole scene and the main subject was actually 'in the way'. that kinda

polarised my attitude as to how i 'felt' about the subject. lock onto your subject, focus

    and frame but 'think' background....
