    Grackle

          4

Thanks for the comments. The Grackle gives off this beautiful iridescent purplish blue color when in sunlight. But from a distance they look all black. I finally got this shot that shows some of their colors. I just wish I could have gotten him so he didn't blend in so much with the shade of the background water.

    Ruffed Grouse

Thanks for the comments. I did do a good bit of photoshop work on this. I cloned out many of the branches around the grouse's head and then added a little blur to smooth it out. Those were the actual colors in the background.

I got this bird in the wild by Clear Creek state park. I've been told

that grouse are very hard to photograph since they are very skittish,

so I was delighted to find one and have it pose so nicely for me. Any

    comments appreciated.

    Flamingo Flip

Shot this at the National Aviary in Pittsburgh as this Flamingo was

cleaning and grooming itself with some strange neck contortions. Any

    comments appreciated.

  1. I know geese are an all too common subject but this was one of my

better shots of one. The evening sun really lit this goose nicely I

    thought. Any comments appreciated.

  2. This was the same view as my previous post, however this shot was

taken later in the day when the sun light was much warmer and softer.

I also cropped it in tighter, hoping for a better composition. Any

    comments appreciated.

  3. It's starting to get warmer here in Pennsylvania but many lakes are

still iced over. I found this goose trotting along the ice, probably

wishing it was a little warmer so it would all melt away.

    Any comments appreciated.
