Thanks for the comment. It is greatly appreciated.

To those you continue to leave 3 ratings....could you please have the courtesy to explain why you think this is a poor image. When all I see are 3's and 4's that doesn't help make me become a better photographer and that is the main reason I belong to this site.

    Gotcha!

Thanks for the comments! This was taken from the Ft. Myers Beach fishing pier. Some kids were throwing this Snowy some free handouts as he was quickly gobbling them up. Being from PA, I was totally amazed how tame the Florida wildlife is.

Thanks Neil! Probably of all the things I've tried shooting, a bird in flight is what I find the most difficult too. Especially when they come close and you have to pan very fast while trying to keep aim and focus.

Very Nice! Beautiful composition, lighting and focus. I believe this looks like a white throated sparrow. They have the white throat and the little patch of yellow above the eye.

    Cheers!

  1. These two were actually shot at the Pittsburgh Aviary. There was a wooded fence in the original background. I thought I'd try my best in photoshop to cut that out and put in a distant tree line, in an attempt to make it look like a wilderness. There is something with the light & possible angle that doesn't look quite right to me, but I had a lot of fun playing around with this image none the less. The branch they are perched on and the large tree in the back were in the original image.

This was shot in an outside enclosure. I can't remember what angle the sun was but I liked the warm glow on the left side too. This is one of two bald eagles they have at the Pittsburgh Aviary. They both had wing injuries and could no longer fly. The aviary was rehabilitating them so it looks like they are doing pretty good now...which is so nice to see with these magnificant creatures.

    Cheers!
