Beautiful and powerful image. You just cost me $1000. I've been debating the purchase of the 12-24 and now this...

I love it. And I'm not playing Oregon favorites here :) Didn't even notice the location/photographer til after I voted. It's one for the living room wall I think.

I'd like to see this in b/w too.

I enjoy the feel of the picture, the contrast of the girl and the car. I'd like to see her expression, perhaps dodge the face a bit? Also, it's a little soft for me, a bit more contrast (if you can save some detail in the face). The shadow in the lower left is distracting, perhaps a dodge there too, or a clone if done digitally.

One of those foggy days on the Oregon Coast...

Worth an 1 1/2 hr drive to reshoot with the new camera (this was
taken on an old 2 meg p+s on med quality)? Also, any photoshop
comments appreciated as I just started learning it 3 wks ago and did
a bit with this one.

Amazing colors. I'd like to see some detail in that boat in the foreground. Might be worth some fiddling in Photoshop to bring it out just a touch.

Thank you. I've gone ahead and put it up for critique despite some problems with the file size, etc. (edited response, original response now included in technical details).

First of all, thanks for all the helpful comments and really great ratings! I just joined up and it is very encouraging.
I tried cropping it a few times but there seems to be too much clutter just at the base of the trees, and that barn on the right looks a bit odd if you only see the roof. Cropping at the treetops looked too severe to me.
I think I may need to try shooting it again from a different spot to get a more pure image. I personally enjoy the foreground but definitely see the cropping argument equally.
Luckily it's just five minutes down the road to that spot, so I'll make some more attempts. There are actually three mountains. Maybe I'll go for all three next time.

Thanks for any comments.

A bit of a snapshot, required lots of cropping and I'm still not sure
on composition. But it soaked me and my camera a second later, so I
had to do something with it :)
