does anybody know whats happening with the Drebel hacked firmware?

ive got a ET-65III and it does indeed fit. im sure it wouldnt vignette on a 30/60/10 or Drebel as i cant see it blocking the view in my film body(eos100)'s viewfinder, but havent taken any test shots with it on film to see if it does on full frame at all.

around the same price range as the GII you could get a used elan(eos100), elanII(eos50), or eos10. i think those 3 bodies have a few advantages over the rebel that are worth whatever small risks that comes with buying used... you can get alot of good info about all of those bodies from http://photonotes.org/reviews/

is the autofoucs sensor mirror moving along with the main mirror? if you can see a faint ghost image thats might be the problem... and if it is you will probably need to send it in to canon.

Read the section on white balance in your manual, it should tell you how to correct this.

would color filters you would normally use for B&W film also work in the same way for a color digital camera with the white balance set after mounting the filter? or does the filter change things so much even after wb adjustment that the result would be unnatural? i havent got any color filter handy to try it out... anybody out there better equipped than i thats tried this or is willing to try and post the results?
