I have a Minolta SRT101 I bought new when I was in school. The camera is in mint condition. This camera is a joy to use. Viewfinder is bright and easy focus. Used lenses are cheap. I'll never part with it. I recently had it cleaned, lubed & adjusted. Also now uses 1.5 v silver oxide battery. Can't say enough good things about this camera. Metering is about as perfect as it can get too.

Thanks. I took a Minolta X-570 to compare metering. The metering on the Voigtlander was 1 to 2 stops off. I took 2 pictures each with the different meter readings and found I liked the Voigtlander metering better. The photos were slightly darker.
I'm getting quite a few different cameras now that I won't know which one to take out.
My list now is: Voigtlander Vitessa T, Yashica Electro GT, Canon F1 & AE1P, Minolta SRT101 & X570, and Nikon F3hp w/MD4.

3rd photo. Great camera. Photos are very sharp.

The meter does respond to light on my camera. I'm going to run a test a roll thru it tomorrow as I figure out how to put the film in it. I know how to open it but haven't figured out installing the film.
Thanks,

Thanks Manfred. It took me awhile to get it figured out but I did. I'm going to compare the metering to my other cameras.
Thanks again. You really helped. Neat strange camera :). Can't wait to shoot a roll of film thru it.

Just wondering. There doesn't seem to be a battery to run the meter. Neat
camera.

Looks like this camera will sit in it's case.

Are they good cameras?
The Voigtlander Vitessa T has a 50mm f2.8 & 35mm f3.4. Also there is a thing I
can put on top of the camera that looks like you can use it to see what the
photo will look like with different lenses. I'm just checking the internet
about the camera. Haven't quite figured out the lens yet. It seems like you
can set to different shutter ranges then put the lens on. Is there a battery &
meter? I figured out how to open the camera and advance the film.
The Fujica V2 is an automatic camera? Also used to use mercury battery? Can be
used manual metering?
Have been using a Yashica Electro 35 GT for awhile. Are the above cameras any
better in picture quality?
Thank you,

I can't see it in your photo. Negatives have grain. It can be beautiful in a photo. Print the photo and I'll bet you won't see any grain.

I agree with David. Scan your own & print your own. I use a Minolta Scan Dual IV. You need a program to adjust your photos too. I'm staying with film. For me film has a special look that digital doesn't have.
On your photos I would use curves & shadow/highlight adjustments to get the whites more white.

There was a post awhile back about Canon lens having a special softer look. I guess it's the contrast on lenses from other camera makers.
I like the look of the Canon fd lens. The Nikon lens has more contrast. Canon fd just looks better.
Nice job Federick.

Stay with film. You have a great scanner. I don't see any reason to switch to digital.

Just used a regular fanny pack. In the hunting dept. they have large fanny packs.

I finally have a few prime lenses for my F1. I have a 24mm f2.8 SSC BL, 28mm
f2.8, 50mm f1.4 SSC BL, 50mm f1.8, 135mm f2.8, 200mm f4.
Zooms are 35-70mm f2.8-3.5 & 80-200 f4.
How well do you suppose the FD primes compare to the really expensive AF zooms?
Also bought a fanny pack for $10 in Wal-Mart to carry my F1 body and the prime
lenses.

Try printing some of the scans and see how much grain you see in the print.

I'm printing mostly 8x10, some 8x12 & odd sizes and up to 12x18. The photos
are in a store of local artists for tourists. I'm using Epson HWT mat right
now because that's what I have.
Thank you,

Thank you. Michigan has a lot of water :). Where are you now?

Thank you, it was fun taking them. I was out for a ride on a potoon boat. I was hoping they would turn out good.

I have the SRT101 I bought new while in school. It's in mint condition and I'll never part with it. I recommend it. Metering is nearly perfect. Has mirror lockup. I sent mine for cla and it now used 1.5v silver oxide. I would pick up another Minolta with apperature priority for low light. Lenses are very well made. I also have the X570. The only thing I don't like about the X570 it has a plastic body with light metal around it and makes quite a thunk from the mirror when you shoot. The X570 is highly rated though but I think the XD11 would be better
