  1. hello!

I used the X-Pan, with Ekta 100 G and a 45 mm lens, a few months ago in a printing

    work's, here in Grenoble, France.

    Normally , i mostly work with a Nikon FM2, or a Leica MP in 35mm, and a Rolleiflex 2,8 F

    in 6 X 6.

The X-Pan lenses are superbs,(closer to the Nikon's optical "touch", than the Leica's one).

Even for a "traditionalist" like me, it's definitively a great camera!

  2. Hello!

I'm interested by the design of the first Leica shutters, Ur-Leica and Leica 0.

Is the shutter of the new Leica 0 edition, the same as the original's one?

Does someone have a drawing of this type of shutter, or a precise technical description?

    Thank's a lot in advance,

    Eric

  3. Thank's a lot for all your answers!

I know that , even with negatives films , it's pretty difficult to have a good result.

(I worked before with Provia 400 in a factory, and the resullt was more or less grey/green,

but in an "industrial" ambient it wasn't so bad...)

In this case (musicians), I think that, finally, i will put a Tri-X in my MP...

  4. Hello,

i have to make some pictures , next week, of musicians in a recording session . I will

use ekta slides. The problem is that the hall is lightened by fluorescent lights (neons).

What is the best, to use a daylight film (Ekta 200), or a tungsten film like the ekta 320 T ?

I don't have any filter , for the moment...

Thank's a lot for your answers,

    Eric

  5. The 50mm Summicron is known for inducing flare very easely with indirect lights.I had the

last version of the cron, and the same problem (and i used it always with the shade).I

prefer to change it for an Elmar 50/2,8.No problems now and it's really a Great lens, but

with a different "touch" than the Cron.

  6. Because, IT'S A REPLICA,a non operational camera ,the "lens" is only a piece of glass, and if

there is a shutter it don't works as a normal shutter, and if i buy it, knowing it was a

dummy,it was only for the pleasure to have a beautiful object!

  7. I bought it in my city, Grenoble in the french Alps. The camera was for 10 years in the

    display window of the store.

I know, it's difficult to find one, only 500 copies were made in Wetzlar by apprentices in

    the 70 's.

...but it's impossible to load a film in it... also the lens is a fake one.

  8. I found an Ur-Leica replica (made in Wetzlar) one year ago. It's very well maked, and i put

it upon my book-case...Yesterday I discovered a photo on the net, with the camera open!

I thought it was just a dummy, impossible to open, with nothing into... and yes ! there is

the shutter, the film pressure, and the most part of the original mecanism ! 5 great

minutes in the life of a Leica fan!<div>009anc-19780584.jpg.e533af119509979c2046ef58273127b9.jpg</div>

  9. The Apochromat 100 f/2 from Kinoptik (a french optic company , www.kinoptik.com) is

available for the Leica R. Before this lens was mounted on the Alpa's.It's quite expensive

(3350 ?),but it seems to be an "haute-couture" lens, also available for film cameras.

    Someone around has test it?

  10. Dear Aric, don't be disapointed..but the same problem happened recently on my M6TTL

(under warranty). I sent it to Solms...more than 3 months ago,and i'm still waiting for it!

(They sent me an M7,a week ago, for making me patient). It seems to be a new shutter

problem that appears on M6 TTL and M7, and they are working to resolve it.(I think a LOT

of cameras will return to Solms in the next few months...)

  11. I had some problems with the shutter of my M6 TTL.(A dark vertical strip at the left of the

image, at the hight speeds-more than 1/125-).It seems to be caused by the erratic speed

    of the roller blinds.

Maybe a problem resolved on the MP?

I sent my camera to Solms more than one month ago.

Is anyone else around had the same kind of problem with the M6TTL?

(I have also a Nikon FM2 for years and thousands of photos ,without any problem.)

I thought that to buy a Leica , it's to pay for having the best quality...

  12. Dear Jay, my cron 's flare problem is not induced by strong backlights (i know ,that, in

these situations all lenses will flare), but by more subtile indirect lights (for ex the

light of the sky when i shoot a wall -the sky not beeing in the picture- or by the

oblique light of an open door (even if the door is not in the picture..;),or by the

presence of a luminous zone in the high of the picture,in some black forest

photos. This case never happened with the cron 35 asph (i can have the sun in the

    frame ,sometimes, without any flare!)

    saluti , Eric

  13. I have an M6 TTL (of 2002), and i detected that my Summicron 50 (last version,in

mint condition) is prone to flare sometimes when i shot in back light.(much more than

my cron 35 ASPH, or my also usuals Nikkors.) Of course i always use the shade.

Does Leica thinks to resolve this problem in the future?

What is the exact cause of this tendency to flare in the cron 50?

    Thank's for your answers,

    Eric

  14. Hi Robert ,i had a Leica AF-C1 a few years ago... it was my very first Leica (I have now

an M6TTL). ...Well the design is nice, very well constructed also (for a compact).

The lens at 40/2.8 is quite good, but at 80 /5.6 the quality falls down (in fact the AF-

    C1 it's only aMinolta re-designed by leica).

I bought after a Minox 35 GTE and a Rollei 35 Classic,...very much betters! especially

for the lens!...but sometimes i feel nostalgic about it...it was my first leica!
