Clear plastic sandwiched between polarizing filters. Some plastics can rotate the plane of polarization of light passing through, producing colors in this plastic. The stressed areas show stronger effects.

Shot in pitch dark, camera focus preset by trial and error. Exposure time about 4 seconds. I manually fired a hand-held flash (at low power setting) multiple times to light the interior.
